NFL vs The Pope vs The Bachelor

The three things going on in the world (or at least my world) have all merged into one monster blog. NFL free agency, the pope, and the Bachlor finals. Let’s mix em in a bowl and call em gumbo!

Greg Jennings is OF COURSE going to play for the Vikings. He is visiting their today. Stick it to us Greg! … just like Brett, Sharper, Longwell, and probably 50 other idiots. Anywhos, that’s a lot like going to play with devil in my book.

So Pope Francis is a Jesuit. So was Vince Lombardi, the entire Marquette University is Jesuit. So what is a Jesuit? Still Catholic right?
Short version: “God’s Marines” Wow, that sounds hard core.

The Society of Jesus (Latin: Societas Iesu, S.J., SJ or SI) is a Christian male religious order of the Roman Catholic Church. The members are called Jesuits and are also known colloquially as “God’s Marines”,[2] these being references to founder Ignatius of Loyola‘s military backg

Enter the dragons: Top 5 greatest Welsh boxing performances of all-time

On August 30th, the 75th anniversary of one of the most fiercely contested and controversial Heavyweight championship fights of the 20th Century passed quietly by. On that night in 1967, Tommy Farr, from Clydach Vale, Wales, known as ‘The Tonypandy Terror’ and at 24, already a veteran of more than 200 fights, took on Joe Louis at Yankee Stadium, New York City.
People still talk about this fight – how they stayed up through the night, listening to it on the radio, how loudspeakers were set up in public halls for crowds to assemble and how it had been spoken of in Wales for years afterwards. Its anniversary has inspired this article.
For a small nation of 3 million or so, Wales has provided many more boxing legends than seems proportionate. The reasons for this may be material for another article, one day. But here, in ascending order, are my 5 picks for the greatest performances by Welshmen in the ring.
5. Joe Louis v Tommy Farr

Hunt ready for 'Cinderella Man' role

When it was announced Mark Hunt was making his UFC debut, one of the last obligations the UFC had after its purchase of the Pride promotion, it was one of the biggest head-scratching moments of the time.

Hunt had been on a fairly unspectacular losing streak, and a loss to Sean McCorkle in his UFC debut at UFC 119 had cemented his status as a kickboxing star who had a moment of glory in Pride, but wasn't an MMA-caliber heavyweight fighter.

His lack of a true defensive wrestling game to supplement his legendary chin and his equally intimidating striking was why he kept losing; as soon as the fight hit the ground, he was lost. And the McCorkle loss seemed to suggest a second fight in the organization would go the same way.

Then something interesting happened.

Hunt developed some submission defense to go with some brand new takedown defense, and in the process has gone on a three-fight winning streak against increasingly tough competition.

Going into Saturday night's Cheick Kongo fight at UFC 144, Hu
