Adrien Broner video highlights & greatest hits collection from HBO Boxing

Adrien Broner seems to stay in the headlines as one of the young stars of boxing, and one of HBO Boxing's big faces for the future. Right here, you can take a look back at his best moments thus far, with a video of Adrien Broner highlights and greatest hits. Take a look at who Broner has defeated in his biggest and best performances in a still young, burgeoning career, and watch the highlights to see how we get the job done.

Of course, there's some revisionist history here. Adrien Broner vs. Daniel Ponce de Leon was regarded as being a controversial decision, and an altogether stinky fight. But they talk up his performance here as if it was dominant or exceptional.
That's not the case. What was exceptional though was his performance in his biggest fight to date, his WBC Lightweight title winning effort over Antonio DeMarco. He put on a great show there and was indeed dominant.
Other wins over Jason Litzau and Martin Rodriguez weren't exactly against great opposition...

Spectacle, Substance: Adrien Broner Vs. Antonio DeMarco Preview And Prediction

All of Adrien Broner's preening with brushes, all of his talking in the third person, all of his weight-missing antics and Twinkie diet boasts, all of his stunts like in-ring faux marriage proposals -- it's all amusing enough, or magnetically enraging enough, or both, and it's all a part of who he is, and it's no small part of what makes him captivating, and it's no small part of why he's one of HBO's ratings darlings. But what the hardcore boxing fans have most wanted from him is to test his sublime speed and power truthfully. No more fringe contenders, no more televised mismatches. We know who Adrien Broner, the spectacle, is. We want to know who Adrien Broner, the boxer, is.

Antonio DeMarco is the answer Saturday night in Atlantic City.

And it's hard to conceive of a bad answer. If Broner creams a sturdy, determined, lightweight upon his entrance into the division, someone who's like a blown-up, better version of his last authentic chal...

Litzau returns to action Saturday

Former world title challenger and The Boxing Tribune's eighth-ranked super featherweight Jason Litzau (28-3, 21 KOs) returns to the ring this Saturday for the first time since his first round blowout loss to Adrien Broner last June. Litzau will be taking on battered Colorado-based journeyman Corey Alarcon (17-18-1, 4 KOs) at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Minneapolis.

Prior to the Broner loss, "The American Boy" Litzau was riding a career high with back to back upset wins over Rocky Juarez and Celestino Caballero. The one-sided loss, however, stopped Litzau's momentum and led to a stifling year of inactivity.

Alarcon is, well, a 17-18-1 fighter and not expected to offer much resistance. The 34-year-old journeyman is actually the third opponent contracted to fight Litazau, with both Leon Bobo (18-9-1, 2 KOs) and Tyrone Harris (24-9, 16 KOs) pulling through for undisclosed reasons.

The wait is finally over. After an injury-plagued 2011 campaign, Three-Division World Champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero will return to the ring on Saturday, July 28 at HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. to face unbeaten power puncher Selcuk "Mini Tyson" Aydin for the vacant WBC Interim Welterweight World Championship in a fight to be televised live on SHOWTIME.
An inspiring young man in and out of the ring, Gilroy, California's Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (29-1-1, 18 KO's) has captivated the boxing world ever since his professional debut in 2001, and he is far from finished. In fact, it seems that Guerrero sets the bar higher for himself with each fight, always passing each progressively more difficult test with flying colors.
Already a World Champion at 126, 130 and 135 pounds, the 28-year-old Guerrero's list of conquests includes Joel "Cepillio" Casamayor, Jason Litzau, Vicente Escobedo and Michael Katsidis "T...

Round And Round, Featuring What's Next For Nonito Donaire, Adrien Broner And Others

That's Bob Arum next to Oscar De La Hoya. Here's a fun game: See if you can count how many fights discussed below won't happen because these two can't get along. At the end, stab yourself in the stomach with a gardening trowel that exact number of times. If you live, you are cured of being a boxing fan!(Here's a reminder, should you survive, to like us on on our new Facebook page.)

Round And RoundESPN's Dan Rafael seems to think Abner Mares and Anselmo Moreno is "more likely" than Mares fighting Nonito Donaire, which is true just on the face of it because Mares-Donaire is going to be almost impossible to make due to the Oscar De La Hoya-helmed Golden Boy/Bob Arum-helmed Top Rank promoter feud. Maybe Rafael knows something more than that. All I know is that Mares doesn't ever list Moreno first as a potential opponent. It's too bad -- Mares-Moreno is a really sexy fight. I hope I'm wrong to be skeptical. What if Mares settles in one di...

The Week's Boxing Schedule, Featuring Marcos Maidana, Devon Alexander, Alexander Povetkin, ...

Don't ever say that TQBR is not interested in the future of sport. Last week's schedule brought you the innovation that is Taser Ball, this week it's blindfolded boxing. Sure, they thought of it in 1949, but it probably just needed better PR. Hell, it looks like Paul Williams learnt some of his technique by watching that tape. Hohoho. Enough joviality. On to the week's schedule, which features some pretty damn good fights. There's a double header on HBO with Marcos Maidana vs. Devon Alexander at welterweight with Adrien Broner vs. Eloy Perez at junior lightweight sharing the billing. There's an interesting heavyweight match up from Germany in the form of former cruiserweight boss man Marco Huck vs. Alexander Povetkin, a former Olympic gold medallist. Add to that some decent shows on ESPN and Showtime, Welsh light heavyweight Nathan Cleverly fighting and the usual goings on and you have yourself a decent weekend of pooooogilism.

Stepping Sideways: Preview And Prediction For Saul Alvarez Vs. Kermit Cintron

(Saul Alvarez, left; Kermit Cintron, right)Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is either the future of the boxing or a spoiled child, depending on who you ask. It's unlikely that the argument is going to be solved by his junior middleweight fight this weekend with Kermit Cintron in Mexico City. Not unless Cintron pulls the upset and defeats Canelo, which is an unlikely prospect. On the other bout of the HBO televised double header, fellow hopeful Adrien Broner fights in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. His opponent, Argentina's Vicente Rodriguez, is a level below even Cintron. So this is meant to be a showcase night on HBO, hopefully before both men move on to bigger and better things.

Alvarez (38-0-1) is only 21. In his native Mexico, he's already a superstar. He's getting that way with Mexican-American fans too. The problem is that he hasn't really beaten anybody of note -- unless you count allegedly beating up the Ring's number three man... at junior flyweight.....

Victoria Aut Mors: Mike O'Dowd

The phrase "boxing hotbed" is one of those fight terms that gets thrown about with ease whether the user truly understands its meaning or not -- like "shot," "exposed" and "ring generalship." There aren't many boxing hotbeds around right now, be it for lack of overall interest in the sport, or maybe even times just not being quite as tough as in previous eras. If asked which cities or regions of the United States frequently churn out young talent, the Great Lakes area probably wouldn't make the cut. For instance, Minnesota's finest crop in the last 20 or more years has been Will Grigsby, Jason Litzau and maybe Matt Vanda -- not exactly the Murderers' Row of the fight fame. Such wasn't always the case though. In the early 1900s, states like Wisconsin and Minnesota were not only producing respectable fighters (and a few very, very good ones), they were also included in the battle grounds of boxing legislation in that ...

Eloy Perez Beats Up Ira Terry In Salinas

Like Mexican Coke, the Spanish boxing telecasts taste sweeter and more natural even though in truth they are no better than the standard American product. Solo Boxeo Tecate on TeleFutura in particular has consistently entertained recently despite specializing in cards sans star power, so we’re pleased to bring you regular coverage in this space starting this week.
Friday’s edition from Salinas, Calif. featured local unbeaten junior lightweight contender Eloy Perez breaking down and overwhelming Ira Terry Jr.; referee Dan Stell was forced to stop the fight in the 6th round.
The 25-year-old Perez (23-0-2, 7 KOs) has trod a tougher path than most well-regarded prospects but that hasn’t prevented his promoter Golden Boy from treating him as the Caleb to stablemate Adrien Broner’s Aaron in a case of favoritism that would make fellow Salinas native John Steinbeck blush.
A total of five knockouts in his first 21 fights relegated Perez to TeleFutura while Broner grew up on premium cabl...

Adrien Broner to face Vicente Rodriguez for Vacant WBO 130 Lbs Belt on Nov 26th on HBO

Next week, an official announcement will take place showcasing Cincinnati's hometown favorite, Adrien "The Problem" Broner. Broner will be getting his first shot at a world title when he battles Argentina's Vicente Rodriguez for the vacant WBO Junior Lightweight World Title on Saturday, November 26 at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio which will be televised on HBO Boxing After Dark.
Broner made waves in his last bout when he destroyed Jason Litzau in one round. He won over the hearts and minds of HBO apparently, who previously had been unhappy - as had the rest of theboxing community - with his somewhat dispirited effort in a controversial win over Daniel Ponce de Leon. Now he has a chance to grab up a world title and solidify his position in one of the most wide open divisions in the sport.
