Hill makes contract warning

Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway insists his side still have a great chance of promotion from the Championship this season.

The Eagles, who looked on course for a top-two finish earlier this season, are without a win in their last nine matches and still not guaranteed a play-off place.

They need a point against Peterborough on Saturday to be sure of a top-six finish and Holloway feels they will get it if his players perform as well as they did in Tuesday's goalless draw at Millwall.

"We've still got a fantastic chance," he said.

"We need one more point if results go against us and with a performance like Millwall I can see us getting it.

"We have got to get in there and then we will be hard to beat.

"I don't think we are anything like we were a couple of weeks ago when things were just going totally wrong. Let's hope we can give our fans something to cheer about with a shot at the play-offs."

Fleetwood v Rochdale preview

Sunderland head coach Paolo Di Canio faces the daunting task of a trip to Chelsea with a threadbare squad in his first Premier League match in charge.

Di Canio has doubts over midfielder David Vaughan due to a groin problem and defender Carlos Cuellar, who is struggling with his ankle.

Captain Lee Cattermole and striker Steven Fletcher will both miss the rest of the season with knee and ankle injuries respectively.

But there is some hope for long-term absentee Wes Brown, who is continuing to train without suffering a reaction to his knee problem.

Chelsea's fixtures continue to come thick and fast as they battle on three fronts with FA Cup and Europa League trophies to play for.

Fernando Torres scored twice against Rubin Kazan on Thursday but given the rotation policy, Rafael Benitez could restore Demba Ba to the starting line-up for the visit of the Black Cats.

Oscar and Eden Hazard were both involved as substitutes in Europe, with John-Obi Mikel left on the bench, so all three can expect recalls to

Millers snatch the points

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez admitted his side looked very jaded in their 4-0 defeat at the hands of Premier League leaders Manchester United.

Two goals apiece from Robin van Persie and Javier Hernandez were more than enough for United, who restricted Wigan to very few chances, only a disallowed goal from Arouna Kone coming close to denying them a clean sheet.

And Martinez felt a fourth game inside two weeks had proved too much for his squad, which has been badly hit by injuries recently.

The Spaniard said: "I did feel that we started well, and in many aspects of our performance we were trying to do all the good things we know we can do, but I did feel today was a game too many.

"I thought it was very frustrating for our players. It's been a really busy period and we haven't been able to share the efforts between the squad because we had so many injuries and players missing.

"Today, you look at the opposition and they've been able to make five or six changes from Saturday - I th

Top 4 rivalries in British boxing today

“Rivalry is the life of trade, and the death of the trader” – Elbert Hubbard
Previously I discussed some of the more spiteful recent boxing rivalries seen, and in some cases not seen, in a British ring. There is no doubt our fine sport has a greater resonance when there are two enemies with their pride on the line, bloodlust on their mind and hate in their heart. Here I will go through four current British Boxing rivalries that simmer more than the others, detailing their conception, present standing and consider the potential likelihood of their being settled in the future.
[See: Part 1 - The Best & Worst of British Boxing Rivalries]
Tyson Fury – David Price
Rivalries are often more fun when the characters involved have genuine differences. Tyson Fury is the mad hatter of British boxing. He once took his shirt off and challenged Dereck Chisora while the two sat ringside watching George Groves-James Degale. He has been known to be publicly chauffeured by horses with a megaphone ...

Redshaw brace sinks Rochdale

Morecambe extended Rochdale's poor run of home form with a 2-1 victory at Spotland on Saturday afternoon.

Dale's challenge at the top end of League Two has been built on their success away from home, but they have won only once on home turf so far and were second best against the Shrimps. Morecambe let the hosts off the hook early on when Lewis Alessandra teed up Jack Redshaw, but the former Dale striker sent his shot wide of the upright.

But when an identical opportunity presented itself in the 10th minute, this time set up by Kevin Ellison, Redshaw made no mistake by sliding a neat finish past goalkeeper Josh Lillis.

Jim Bentley's side almost doubled the lead when Ellison's shot was deflected off Rhys Bennett onto the post. For Rochdale, Dele Adebola saw his powerful close-range header brilliantly saved by Barry Roche while Kevin McIntyre's cross-cum-shot looped over the keeper onto the crossbar.

Morecambe extended their lead midway through the second half when Redshaw converted Elli

Accrington v Rochdale preview

Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Accrington Stanley and Rochdale at the Crown Ground.

Accrington manager Paul Cook has no new injury problems.

Coleman managed Stanley for 13 seasons before leaving to take the reins at Spotland in January, clearing the way for Cook to take charge having previously worked under the outgoing boss.

James Gray is back in contention following illness and the forward could contest a place on the substitutes' bench.

Defender Michael Liddle must serve the final game of a three-match suspension for his sending off against Chesterfield, while midfielder Charlie Barnett remains out with an ankle problem.

Danny Schofield comes back into Cook's plans. The Rotherham loanee would have missed out on midweek action against his parent club before heavy downpours ahead of kick-off lead to the match being postponed.

Rochdale winger Bobby Grant will miss out on the trip to face his former club.

Rochdale v Bradford preview

Team news ahead of Tuesday night's League Two clash between Rochdale and Bradford at the Spotland Stadium.

Rochdale welcome back Kevin McIntyre from suspension.

The veteran midfielder sat out the 2-1 victory over Gillingham after his appeal against a red card picked up against Dagenham was rejected.

After serving his one-match ban, McIntyre will be looking to regain his place in the team from Matthew Pearson, who replaced him at the weekend.

Skipper Peter Cavanagh remains a doubt with a calf injury that has kept him out of the last four matches.

Luke Watson (knee), Reece Gray (broken leg) and Matt Edwards (wrist) remain long-term absentees but manager John Coleman has no other injury or suspension worries as his side look to extend their unbeaten run to five matches and leapfrog their opponents in the table.

Bradford manager Phil Parkinson is not expected to make any changes.

The Bantams lost their 100 per cent home league record this season when going down to Port Vale 1-0 on Saturday, but Parkins

Gillingham v Rochdale preview

Team news for Saturday afternoon's League Two clash between Gillingham and Rochdale at Priestfield.

Gillingham will be boosted by the return of Myles Weston.

The striker missed last week's 2-0 win at Port Vale due to a back injury but has returned to training in time for the Dale clash.

Charlie Lee is making good progress with his leg complaint but is not quite ready while fellow midfielder Jack Payne (groin) is taking part in an extra week's worth of training to up his fitness levels.

Midfielder Bradley Dack, meanwhile, serves the second game of his three-match suspension for the red card received against Southend.

Striker Adam Birchall has this week moved to non-league Dartford on a one-month loan deal and will therefore not be available as the Gills look to continue their superb start to the season.

Kevin McIntyre will miss out for Rochdale following an unsuccessful red card appeal.

The veteran midfielder was dismissed when Dale were 2-0 ahead at home to Dagenham and watched from afar as

Daggers snatch draw at Dale

Dagenham & Redbridge came back from two goals down to clinch a 2-2 draw at Rochdale.

Trailing two-nil, the visitors were handed a lifeline in the 60th minute when referee Dean Mohareb dismissed Kevin McIntyre for a challenge on Josh Scott after the striker had rounded goalkeeper Josh Lillis.

McIntyre appeared to go shoulder to shoulder with his opponent, but a penalty was awarded to the visitors and the Dale defender for a professional foul.

Mickey Spillane scored from the resulting spot-kick and minutes later Dagenham were on level terms when Sam Williams headed home Medy Elito's corner. Dagenham almost won it late on when Danny Green hooked the ball over Lillis but a post spared the hosts from further misery.

Up until McIntyre's dismissal, Rochdale had been controlling the game. Ryan Edwards crashed a shot against the woodwork before Dele Adebola fired them ahead in the 33rd minute with a smart turn and shot from the edge of the area.

Four minutes later Bobby Grant curled another decisive f

Narrow win for Gills, Vale romp

Gillingham held on with 10 men for the whole second half to beat Southend 1-0 and stay top of League Two, while Port Vale won 5-2 at Fleetwood.

At Priestfield on Tuesday, the Gills took an interval lead over the Shrimpers through Danny Kedwell's penalty and though Bradley Dack was sent off for violent conduct in first-half stoppage time, they preserved their clean sheet and top spot.

Free-scoring Vale remain second after a thumping away win over Fleetwood, who drop from third to fourth.

Vale went ahead just before the half-hour mark at Highbury through the in-form Tom Pope and Ashley Vincent quickly doubled their lead with his third goal in as many games.

Junior Brown pulled a goal back before half-time but Pope's second restored the two-goal margin and Louis Dodds struck twice to make it 5-1.

Steven Gillespie scored a consolation goal from a penalty but Fleetwood were overtaken by Exeter, who twice came from behind to beat Wycombe.

Kell Brook vs. Carson Jones preview & prediction

This Saturday at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena, Kell Brook and Carson Jones will go head to head in an IBF World Title Eliminator. They have both had vastly different career paths to date, however they bear a resemblance in that they both currently stand on the precipice of a world title challenge. Effectively, this is a winner-takes-all clash. Read on for an in-depth preview of the Kell Brook vs. Carson Jones bout.
Background
Sheffield’s own Kell Brook, 26, has gone undefeated on route to this point. The Englishman owns a record of 27 wins, 18 by knockout and has rarely looked under any real threat in the process. This weekend will be his second time in succession fighting at the Motorpoint Arena in his hometown, having done so while outpointing Matthew Hatton back in March.
