Market for Jeremy Hermida

It turns out there a bunch of teams who possibly want to add the services of Jeremy Hermida to their squad.

Speculation continues to run high that the Marlins will trade outfielder Jeremy Hermida this offseason.
---
The Marlins are hopeful Cameron Maybin will win the center field position, and Cody Ross is expected to return. Ross, also in his second season of arbitration, could be earmarked for right field, making Hermida expendable.
Some teams believed to be interested in Her...

Cody Ross decided to make a change in his walk-up song.

Cody Ross is giving some brotherly love when he comes to the plate.
The Marlins outfielder has switched up his introduction song. He's been coming to bat to Kanye West's "Amazing."
On Saturday, Ross decided to keep his musical choice within his family. Ross's brother, Oscar R...

Cody Ross cashing in

Cody Ross is probably going to make every performance incentive in his contract.

Cody Ross said he was unaware that he earned a $25,000 performance bonus Wednesday when he made his 570th plate appearance of the season. But considering Ross went 3 for 4 with two RBI, the Marlins might wish to include more bonus clauses in the outfielder's contract if they tender him this winter.
Ross hit a home run on his 540th plate appearance, which brought him his first $25,000 bonu...

Cincinnati Reds feeling pain?

With the Marlins in town there is a theory that the Reds could be feeling pain.

It must pain the Reds during the one time a year that the Marlins show up in Cincinnati.
Outfielder Cody Ross and third baseman Jorge Cantu -- who are tied for second on the Marlins with 87 RBI -- are former Reds who got away cheap.
The Reds traded Ross to the Marlins during the 2006 season for a player to be named, which was pitcher Ben Kozlowski. And the Reds d...

Hitting Streaks

Hitting Streaks
Cody Ross is now at 11 and Dan Uggla is at 8.

Cody is batting .370 with five 2B, 2 HR and 13 RBI during his streak.

Danny, during his streak, is batting .323 with 4 HR , 7 RBI and 11 runs scored.

So basically Cody is driving in Danny, except when Uggla goes Yard. Maybe if the guys ahead of them could get on base a little more often, we would really be on to something.

Cody Ross reached on an infield single in the second inning to extend his season long hitting streak to 10 games. He has a ways to go to match his career best. From June 27-July 13, 2008, Ross hit safely in 17 consecutive games.

It seems that Cody Ross is meeting the incentives to be able to afford a new set of tires. (I really should tell that story in full someday.) Anyway, Cody is meeting his contractual demands.

Mets pitcher Pat Misch wasn't the only one who paid when Cody Ross clubbed a three-run homer off him in his first at-bat Wednesday....

In case you didn't see the game, and I must admit I missed most of it, Cody Ross suffered a lower back strain.

Right-fielder Cody Ross left tonight’s game in the seventh inning because of tightness in his back.
Ross said it isn’t serious and he expects to return Friday. He said he felt a twinge while batting in the sixth inning. The Marlins scored six runs in that inning, so with the game in hand he left as a precaution.

Backs are funny, sometimes like all c...

"Just before the bottom of the 11th inning, Cody Ross turned to teammate Dan Uggla on the bench and gave him a few choice words. "This is the inning," Ross said he told him. "I feel it. I usually don't say stuff like that."

CodyRoss.com gives their take on the back-to-back home runs.

Cody said it was his most memorable game in the majors. Back to back home runs to get the walk off in the 9th was very special for Ross. Especially after his best friend, Dan Uggla hit the tying home run before he came to bat. The Ross family was ecstatic when I talked to Janet and McKenzie today. Ross was all over the news and his agent was ectstatic. After having a little bit of a slump of late, Ross always seems to ma...
