All the experts said that a possible Rookie of the Year would be playing Monday night in the last game of the NFL's week 1. Most of them would have been wrong by which team he played for, though. Denver Broncos' receiver Eddie Royal looked like one of the best draft picks that Mike Shanahan has ever made. Of course, most of his yards came from Jay Cutler, who was in turn protected by Ryan Clady (2 first round picks). Maybe these 3 picks have changed Shanahan's luck with the draft....

After much debate, Rob and I came to the agreement that with the fourth pick in the MVN Writers' Mock Draft we would select Vernon Gholston, DE, THE Ohio State University. We were leaning towards Ryan Clady for most of the debate, but it came down to two factors. First, the quarterback must go down and he must go down hard. The Raiders only have three defensive ends on the roster and having a player with Gholston's measurables would be too tantalizing to Al Davis to pass up.
