Tomasz Adamek to face Tony Grano on August 3

Tomasz Adamek's opponent for the August 3, NBC Sports Network Fight Night card has been confirmed. Adamek, 48-2, 29 KO's, will take on Tony Grano, 20-3-1, 16 KO's, in Grano's own hometown in a 10-round heavyweight challenge. The number of Tomasz's legion of loyal Polish boxing fans may well rival the popular Grano's hometown crowd. One thing is certain, the house will be rocking at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT.
Main Events CEO, Kathy Duva said, "This match up is against two guys that are right in front of each other and can punch, either can go at any time. This promises to be an exciting brawl."
Headlining the card is a 10-round middleweight contest featuring Brooklyn's Curtis "Showtime" Stevens, 24-3, 17 KO's against tough Saul Roman, 37-9, 31 KO's of Tijuana, Mexico. In a 10-round cruiserweight battle "Fast" Eddie Chambers, 36-3, 18 KO's, from Philadelphia meets up with South African, Thabiso Mchunu...

Tomasz Adamek workout photos & quotes

On December 22nd at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem in Pennsylvania, boxing returns to NBC, as the main event features current IBF North American Heavyweight Champion Tomasz "Goral" Adamek (47-2, 29 KO's) of Kearny, N.J. vs. Steve "USS" Cunningham (25-4, 12 KO's) of Philadelphia, Pa., in a 12-round heavyweight fight. Right here, take a look at a collection of quotes and photos from a recent Tomasz Adamek workout session.

Tomasz Adamek: "I am a different fighter than I was in 2008. I've changed everything. Everyone can see. I don't stand straight in front of my opponent anymore and I move my head. I am stronger."
Roger Bloodworth: "If Cunningham thinks that he will able to do the same things he did against Adamek four years ago, he will have very unpleasant surprise. Adamek is a very different fighter right now; maybe even a completely different fighter altogether."

Adamek bounces back, defeats Walker

Polish-born Tomasz Adamek recovered from a Round 2 knockdown to defeat Travis Walker on Saturday.

With the five-round win, Adamek, 35, improved to 47-2 with 28 knockouts.

Walker (39-8-1, 31 knockouts) sent Adamek to the ground early, but Adamek recovered in time to turn the tables. By the end of Round 2, Walker had been knocked down himself.

''I know and hear that Travis wants to knock me out,'' Adamek said at the prefight press conference, ''and this would be the only way he could beat me. Wishing and actually doing are two separate things.''

Well, Walker, 33, registered a knockdown, just not a knockout. Either way, in the end, it just wasn't enough.

Tomasz Adamek recovered from a Round 2 knockdown, and defeated Travis Walker on Saturday at the Prudential Center.

With the five-round win, Adamek, 35, becoming something of a fan favorite in New Jersey, improved to 47-2 with 28 knockouts. The matinee card was scheduled around the best time to air a pay-per-view event in Adamek's native Poland.

Walker (39-8-1, 31 knockouts) sent Adamek to the ground early, but Adamek recovered in time to turn the tables. By the end of Round 2, Walker, from Tallahassee, Fla., had been knocked down himself.

Adamek vs. Walker “Ironbound Throwdown” gets afternoon start time on Sept 8

On September 8th, Newark, NJ's Prudential Center will be the site of an old-fashioned, Saturday afternoon fight card that figures to be a real afternoon delight for boxing fans. Can It get any better than this for a boxing fan? Just like in the good old days of the sport, the show is loaded - top to bottom. And unlike some anemic modern day boxing events, this one has no shortage of stars, competitive battles, or important matchups. Even better, boxing fans can come watch the fights in the afternoon, and be home long before two scheduled West Coast fights begin on cable TV that evening.
The NJ event, which is titled the "Ironbound Throwdown", could have easily been named the "Ironbound Throwback", given the quality and quantity of the scheduled bouts. The show is highlighted by not one, not two, but a trio of hard-hitting heavyweight fights that include ranked contenders battling toward a title shot.

Main Events Promotions officially announced the headliner for the third installment of the Fight Night Series airing June 16 from the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on the NBC Sports Network. Heavyweight contenders Tomasz Adamek and Eddie Chambers will meet in a battle of former title challengers both looking to earn another opportunity at a title shot.

Adamek (45-2, 28 KOs) recently made his comeback on the second Fight Night card March 24 when he defeated Nagy Aguilera by lopsided decision. It was Adamek's first bout since getting stopped in 10 rounds in a one-sided loss to WBC champ Vitali Klitschko. Adamek hurt his hand in the Aguilera fight. It was thought to be broken, but later showed just bruises and he should be ready to go for June 16.

Adamek is a former light heavyweight and former undisputed cruiserweight champ. Adamek then stepped up to heavyweight where he earned wins over Jason Estrada, Michael Grant, and Chris Arreola.

Heavyweight Contenders set to Collide June 16th at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ

Main Events announced today that Tomasz Adamek and Eddie Chambers will face off in a battle of heavyweight contenders, on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the Prudential Center, in Newark, NJ. The fight is the feature bout of the fourth edition of NBC Sports Network's nationally televised "Fight Night" boxing series. The TV broadcast will begin at 9PM ET.
The competitive 10-round contest pits two former title challengers against each other in an important fight that should move the winner up the heavyweight ladder, and place him closer to a second crack at one of the Klitschko brothers. Given the goal of both Adamek and Chambers is to win the heavyweight title, it figures that they are approaching this fight as a "must-win".

We have a great, little venue in the Aviator, I wish we could have had a bigger venue but the availability of arenas dictated that this was our location. It's going to make for a great night I think everyone is going to be excited and thrilled to be there. We have so many good fights on the card.
