Meant to mention this earlier but, oh well, the news is the same. Luis Ayala decided he could do better on his own. On Saturday, Ayala was outrighted and he opted for free agency. --- Ayala appeared in 10 games for the Marlins, and he threw 7 2/3 innings. He struggled, posting an 0-3 record with an 11.74 ERA. He opened the season with the Twins, appearing in 28 games while tossing 32 1/3 innings. With Minnesota, he was 1-2 with a 4.18 ERA. For whatever reason...

After last night's game Sean West was recalled for the start in tonight's. As expected, Sean West is being recalled from Double-A Jacksonville. The Star-Tribune is reporting that the Pirates are interested in trading for Twins RHP Luis Ayala, who was designated for assignment this week.
