The Jays' affiliates had more rain-outs (2) than wins (1) on the night. Enough said. Tacoma 8 Las Vegas 7Davis Romero received the start and was not overly sharp. Everyone won (seriously, the affiliates actually had a collectively-solid night) except the young kids in the Gulf Coast League... and they lost in extra innings. The Mariners logged their 100th loss last night. With four games remaining on the 2008 schedule, they have a shot at being tied with the 1978 Mariners for worst team in franchise history. Bullington was nails, that was pretty awesome to see, but I still can't see him lasting till next year.

Fausto's year ends with a bit of a rough patch, but he'll be back.. Healthy, feeling good and well rested.. No doubt Fausto is primed for a better year in 2009.

How about Josh Barfield these past few games? Huh huh whaddayasaytothat?! What did I say about that.. Shame it took a Marte injury and a Cabrera suspension for him to get some time.

Pronk roped a double tonight, he's not back fully but he no longer looks attrocious at the plate. Timing will come with regular start time, which he will get next year.

Kinda keeping it short but felt like I needed to post tonight. I was kinda peeved at Josh Beckett's comments about Ryan Garko.. Garko said enough, he was spot on with everything.. Beckett just was looking for someone to blame if you ask me.. Like Garko said, about half his team wears the same type of pads.

Anyway, wanted to pass along this link for all you minor league nuts, no pun intended.

Kwame Brown Strikes Again

I would like to congratulate Kwame Brown for stealing money from yet another NBA franchise. This time his theft hits close to home because he signed with my home town Detroit Pistons. Kwame's insertion into the lineup will most likely signal the end of Amir Johnson's, Jason Maxiell's or maybe even Rasheed Wallace's stay in Detroit, but I really don't care about that. I am much more interested in figuring out whether Kwame is the worst #1 pick of all time. Let's do this scientifically and break it down by sport. We will only look at picks since 1980 to keep it semi-relevant for us 20 somethings. Here goes: Basketball: Kwame Brown - 2001 - Washington Wizards - The Pistons will be Kwame's fourth team in eight seasons. Apparently seven points and six rebounds from a #1 isn't enough to satisfy most teams.
