2007 Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Sleepers

Every year, there are a few NFL wide receivers that come out of the wood works to post elite fantasy football numbers. In 2006, those under the radar guys that had great seasons were New Orleans Saints receiver Marques Colston (70 receptions, 1,038 receiving yards and 8 TD's) and Detroit Lions wide out Mike Furrey (98 receptions, 1,086 receiving yards and 6 TD's). In the 2006 version of the Bruno Boys "Snooze Alarm" Rankings for Wide Receivers, the Bruno Boys correctly coined both Terry Glenn of the Dallas Cowboys and Reggie Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles as sleepers. Glenn went out and enjoyed a season in which he had over 1,000 receiving yards and found paydirt 6 times. As for Brown (46 receptions, 816 receiving yards, and 8 TD's in 2006), by season's end he was the #1 receiver in Philly and his production made fellow wide out Donte' Stallworth expandable to the New England Patriots. The questions is, who will be those wide receiver sleepers in 2007? The Bruno Boys have a good idea, and we are here to share our information with you. So without further ado, we bring to you the Bruno Boys 2007 "Snooze Alarm" Wide Receiver Rankings. Ranking System: The higher the "Snooze Alarm" Ranking, the more sleeper value the player has. _______________________ Vincent Jackson - San Diego Chargers The route to the NFL wasn't an easy one for Vincent Jackson. He was virtually not recruited in college, and ended up at a small Division-1AA school called Northern Colorado University. At Northern Colorado, he used his size and above average speed to rise up the draft charts and become a 2nd round draft choice of the San Diego Chargers in 2005. Jackson (27 receptions, 453 receiving yards, 6 TD's) spent the first 20 games of his NFL career learning the system and getting familiar with the pace of the NFL game. It wasn't until Week 14 of the 2006 season that he had his coming out party. Over the last 4 weeks of the season, Jackson went for 286 receiving yards and 4 TD's on 14 receptions. His late season surge shows the Bruno Boys that him and quarterback Philip Rivers have started to gain a much needed rapport heading into the 2007 season. Chargers new Head Coach Norv Turner has stated that they are going to use running back Ladainian Tomlinson even more in 2007, but don't expect Jackson to be affected by this. He is now entering his 3rd season in the NFL, which is when most receivers come into their own, and the same size and speed that made him a 2nd rounder in 2005 will make him a reliable fantasy football option in 2007. His big play potential and growing connection with Rivers leads the Bruno Boys to believe that Jackson is a top sleeper in 2007. Because of this, Jackson receives FOUR SNOOZE ALARMS.
