Your Cincinnati Redlegs, only 13.5 GB in the wild card race, face the Atlanta Braves in an evening affair. Stud pitcher Kip Wells will be on the mound for the Reds; he’ll face Jair Jurrjens, who’s a pretty good little pitcher. In his only previous start against Cincinnati this year, Jurrjens only pitched two innings before a long rain delay ended his night. I’d be very happy if he only lasted two innings tonight. Nationals Sign Kip Wells

The Nationals and Kip Wells have agreed to a minor league with an invitation to Spring Training. Wells owns a career 4.67 ERA in 256 career games, but only made two starts in 25 games last season. He probably won't have a huge impact on the Nationals in 2009, but he is a veteran pitcher, and they are always good to have around during Spring Training.

College Football Pick'em Week 15 Results

Alright, so I will be the first to admit that I did not end the season on a high note. Last week, was fairly brutal when it came to picking games. It can happen to the best of us, and the good ones pick themselves up, brush off the dirt and just move on. So, that is what I am going to do. The Bowl season starts next week, and you can believe I will be on fire in the Walker-Sports College Football Pick'em from here on. Now, let's take a look at last week's embarrassment.

Florida 31 vs. Alabama 20: I was half right on this one. The spread was sitting at 10 points when the game kicked off, and that looked like a lot of points to cover in a No.1 versus a No. 2 match up. So I picked Florida to win the game, but I wanted Bama to cover. In the end, Florida got a couple scores late to win the game, and they got the points to cover, I have to admit, I was surprised.

Oklahoma 62 vs. Missouri 21: Oklahoma came in favored by 17 points. Normally I would be scared of a spread that large in a conference championship game. But Oklahoma has put up crazy points all season long. Last Saturday they did not disappoint again, as their offense was too much for Missouri to handle. The scary part is the Sooners actually got off to a bit of a slow start in the first quarter. Also if you bet the over in this one, you were a happy person going to the pay window on Sunday.

Virginia Tech 30 vs. Boston College 12: Now this was supposed to be the close game on the weekend, and obviously it turned out to be the exact opposite. I've also caught a lot of flack about picking Boston College to win this game. I don't know what is more surprising that, Virginia Tech scored 30 points in a blowout, or so man Virginia Tech fans were able to find, read, and be able to type a comment on my blog. The spread was only one point, and Virginia Tech blew that out the water easily.

USC 28 vs. UCLA 7: For the second time last week, I was only half correct with my picks. I knew USC could win this game, but I also thought they could cover the large 33 points spread, and I was wrong about that. What did stand out to me in this game is the mediocrity that is the USC offense. USC probably has the best defense in the country, and they are a very good team. However, their offense has been lack luster, and the fact they allowed UCLA to remain in this game as long as they did is a testament to just have average the Trojans offense really is.

Navy 34 vs. Army 0: Always a great game to watch just because of the tradition. The uniforms Army broke out for the special occasion was pretty kick ass too. Navy covered the 11 point spread with ease. What was more apparent is how Navy's efforts to bring their program into the 21st century are now returning dividends while, Army looked like a Division II or D III school. It was actually kind of a shame to see this game end in such a blowout.

ECU 27 vs. Tulsa 24: I had written ECU off months ago when they went on the skids back in October and dropped a game on the road to UVA. Well Skip Holtz had a little left in his tank, when his boys took the field Saturday. Tulsa was a big 13 point favorite entering the Conference USA Championship. ECU stuck to their game, and they came away with the big upset.
