Patton Oswalt Delivers A Glorious Star Wars Episode VII Pitch

Patton Oswalt is having a fantastic week year. First, as the bumbling Constable Bob, he took down a mob hitman (after getting the crap kicked out of him) in arguably the best episode of Justified ever. A few days ago, he delivered beautiful and poignant commentary in the wake of the tragedy at the Boston Marathon. Fast forward to Thursday, and he’s set to guest star on Parks & Rec as a citizen at a town hall meeting. But that’s not even the best part of his appearance.
NBC released an unedited clip of a lengthy filibuster where Oswalt improvises the entire plot of Star Wars: Episode VII — at least his version, that is. It’s worth a watch, especially with Amy Poehler playing along for the duration. It’s absurd and genius work from a true nerd, and one of the best comedians in the business.

The five best and five worst Super Bowl commercials

Super Bowl 47 is in the books. Now that we have crowned the Baltimore Ravens champions, we can also close the book on the single largest advertising day of 2013. As always, the advertisements were ... interesting. There were several winners, plenty of losers and even a few that still have us scratching our head. At an average cost of $3.8 million for 30 seconds, which companies made the most of their time and which would have been better off saving their money? Disagree with something on our list or think we made a glaring omission? Let us know in the comments. Five Best Ads from Super Bowl 47 By: David Rogers Overall, I thought the 2013 crop of commercials were not only pretty weak, but that they also had some of the most divisive commercials in recent memory. Very few commercials could be unanimously picked as either a winner or a loser. Over on Twitter, the @Awful_Ads feed would be filled with commentary both ridiculing and praising the same commercial. In no par...

Former star of Saturday Night Live and featured player in numerous movies such as “Mean Girls” and “Baby Mama” comedienne Amy Poehler will have her own Super Bowl 47 advertisement for Best Buy. The 41-year-old, 5’2″ actress was a very hot and trending term on the internet recently, as her jokes with friend and usual co-star Tina Fey at the Golden Globes killed. Their bit was talked about all around the water cooler the next day.

Best Super Bowl XLVII commercials

The Baltimore Ravens were the big winners Sunday night. But they weren't the only ones. These 10 commercials were all winners in our book.

Best Buy: "Ask Amy"

We'd have thought this one was amusing even if it was just Amy Poehler repeatedly saying the word "dongle." But that was only one of several good lines the "Parks and Recreation" funny woman got off as she peppered the most attentive Best Buy employee ever with a series of questions.

Tide: "Miracle Stain"

A San Francisco fan spills nachos on his jersey only to find the resulting stain resembles 49ers legend Joe Montana. As pilgrims - aka Niners fans - flock to Montanaland to pay homage, his wife (a Ravens supporter) gets the last laugh when the offending stain is removed thanks to Tide.

Kia: "Babylandia"

Dad attempts to explain to his young son where babies come from (it involves - among other things -- a planet named Babylandia and baby-dispensing rocket ships). When the kid chimes in

> Do I have to be a lonely suicidal maniac to drive an Audi?

> Why did Go Daddy spend $4 million to disgust America?

> Does Amy Poehler always sexually harass tech geeks, and if so, how does she still have money?

> What does a world-wide use of security cameras have to do with selling sugar water?

> How do brawls in libraries help to sell cookies?

> Can anything make movies slower and less angry?

> Do Doritos make you cross dress, or just arouse the desire to cross-dress among people who are already susceptible?

> Did Calvin Klein really just buy a $4 million ad just to make America more homophobic?

Perhaps the Taylor Swift face will be the next to make the internet rounds. She was very unimpressed by Adele beating her out for a Golden Globes award; here’s the reaction that the camera caught.
She also got slammed by co-hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

from Perez Hilton (where you can watch the video)
Thank you Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Thank you for saying everything we’ve been thinking all night! LOLz!
After losing the Globe for “Best Actress in a TV Comedy,” the diabolical duo decided to get (pretend) drunk and talk some serious shiz.

This isn't about this lockout, it's about the previous one in 2004-2005. You remember the one -- the one shortly before Brett Hull retired with the Phoenix Coyotes. No, no, no. Seriously. He was with the 'Yotes, remember? Here:

Told you he played for them. Anyways, Hullie made a stop over at Weekend Update to give Amy Poehler the inside scoop on the lockout. With another season looking almost like it's going to be a wash, there's really nothing else to do but laugh.
