It’s happened a couple times in the past few years. Both times – with Hot Rod and Funny People – I could understand why people didn’t like it. Hot Rod has an awful lot of Andy Samberg in it and some people can’t take two straight hours of him being the main guy. Nevermind, I still think it’s absolutely hilarious and I watched it close to 10 times in a two month span at one point in my life. Funny People could have cut out about 30 minutes and I think it would have been in Oscar competition. Instead, people just say “Oh, man. That movie was so long. It sucked! It wasn’t even that funny and it was called Funny People.” But this isn’t about my irreverent love of the two previous movies. They had their flaws and I understand why people didn’t get on board. I just can’t understand why people didn’t like Looper. The trailer can be a little deceiving.
