2013 NFL Draft: Day 2 Morning Thoughts (Travis Frederick Edition)

One of my favorite movies of all time is "Raiders of the Lost Ark". I think it is a fantastic adventure film starring the great Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones and his quest to find the ark of the covenant. There is a particular scene when they are trying to pinpoint the exact location of the ark that he is worried that his rival, Belloq, has the same secret coordinates to find the treasure. However, the head piece that is supposed to be placed on a staff with a specific length to let the sun reveal the location of the ark in the hidden map room (I really hope you saw the movie or this might be confusing) is discovered to be the wrong length, Indiana celebrates.

"They are digging in the wrong place!" Indiana and his trusty assistant Sallah exclaim with delight, knowing that Belloq only had 1 part of the information and not the vital details on the 2nd side of the head piece. Without full and complete information, the conclusions are dead wrong.

I think of that scene when I follow the NFL

Harrison Ford Still Shows Effects Of Carbon Freeze Throwing Out First Pitch

Somebody call Deputy U.S. Marshal Gerard. You know how I know Dr. Richard Kimble was guilty of killing his wife? No innocent man would have throw the first pitch into the ground on Jackie Robinson Day at Dodger Stadium. That throw has wife killer written all over it.

Han Solo and Chewbacca had a falling out (video)

I guess Han Solo and Chewbacca haven’t been speaking to each other lately. And the relationship between scoundrel and wookie took a turn for the worse on ABC late night. Harrison Ford, on to promote the Jackie Robinson/Branch Rickey biopic “42″ (essay on that film here) ended his interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night with a “I’ll see you in hell!” to a Chewbacca in the audience.
Channeling Han Solo no doubt. Ford also delivered a line that was kind of like Anakin Skywalker in Episode III “If you’re not with me, you’re my enemy.” Remember Han Solo, “only a Sith deals in absolutes.” Ford wasn’t taking any questions about the new Star Wars franchise, in which it is rumored he’ll reprise the role of Han Solo.

And that’s what made for such a well-scripted bit here. It was so well done, some people might not even think this was scripted.
In summer 2015, J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII arrives. We’ll see if Han Solo is in it. The next two installments in the planned trilogy

Harrison Ford had a Star Wars Meltdown on Kimmel (Video)

Ford showed up on Kimmel last night to talk about his current work and of course Jimmy inquired about the much anticipates Star Wars movie shcheduled for summer of 2015. Apparently Harrison wanted no part of the questions and even got a bit squeamish when presented with the inquiry. He prefaced the interview stating that he was up for talking about anything but Star Wars then took a few questions from the audience before having a complete meltdown on air after one audience member couldn’t contain himself.

Dodgers get early chance at payback

In the recently released Jackie Robinson biopic "42", Harrison Ford, playing famed GM Branch Rickey, tells his Robinson that the Dodgers need him to be strong enough to not fight back.

On Monday, when the Dodgers celebrate Jackie Robinson Day at Dodger Stadium, will the real-life players be able to do the same?

If the Dodgers are looking for retribution following Thursday's brawl with the Padres, which left $147 million pitcher Zack Greinke with a broken collarbone, they won't have to wait long. The Padres visit Dodger Stadium on Monday, and despite Major League Baseball suspending Carlos Quentin eight games on Friday night, the guy who charged the mound and took out Greinke will be eligible to play, pending appeal by the players association.

The brawl started Thursday night when Greinke hit Quentin with a pitch and the Padres outfielder charged the mound, taking down the pitcher and breaking his left collarbone amidst a bench-clearing melee. Greinke had plunked Quentin twice in the past

KC rolls out the red carpet for '42' premiere

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Red carpet? Check. Paparazzi? Check. Movie stars? Check. Baseball legends? Check. Ladies and gentlemen dressed to the nines? Check.

Frigid temps aside, the AMC BarryWoods 24 movie complex had everything you couldve asked for early Thursday night.

Everything that is, except for Buck ONeill.

Oh, man, hed be in hog heaven, Bob Kendrick, president of the nearby Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, said as he headed to a special premiere of the new movie 42 in north Kansas City.

He would be loving this. He would be strutting, hed be hugging, you know, and you cant help but reflect on that.

ONeill, a Kansas City icon from his days as a playermanager with the Negro League Monarchs and later as one of baseballs greatest ambassadors, passed away in 2006, at the age of 94. 42, which details the racial integration of Major League Baseball and the personal triumphs of Jackie Robinson, would have been a picture close to Bucks heart.

After all, he lived it.

The red carpet, this is exactly his kind of eve
