Celebs ready to party at Olympics

The athletes and the Olympic torch have arrived in London - and so has the party.

For those keener on celebrity-spotting or dancing the night away than medal counting, the British host city has plenty of action to offer during games time. Away from the track and field, Hollywood royalty such as Brangelina and Nicole Kidman will be rubbing shoulders with diplomats and businessmen at the city's glitziest clubs and grandest historic buildings. Meanwhile, Dizzy Rascal, Snow Patrol and other musicians will keep crowds entertained at outdoor concerts across the capital - though there won't be cocktails and canapes.

The party vibe kicks off Saturday with the sold-out ''River of Music'' festival, which features six stages along the Thames, each named for a different continent. Musicians from the Americas, for example, are taking over London's iconic Tower of London, with a gig from the Scissor Sisters. Other performers include Baaba Maal, Wynton Marsalis and the Kronos Quartet.

Feast of arts, galaxy of stars for Olympic Games

There will be amazing performances and memorable scenes all over Britain this summer. And only some of them will involve medals.

Many of the world's top athletes will compete in the Olympics this summer, and there will be plenty of action away from the tracks, fields and arenas. Alongside the sporting contest is an entertainment extravaganza that will bring stars and celebrities from Paul McCartney to Brangelina to London during the Games.

Britain is organizing a banquet designed to demonstrate - as Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt put it - that ''culture is to Britain what the sun is to Spain.''

Culture is a $177 billion a year business in Britain, and music is one of the country's biggest exports, so it's no surprise that the Games will be accompanied by a melodic soundtrack of summer concerts.

On July 21-22, the ''River of Music'' will feature six stages along the Thames - each named for a different continent - with music from artists including Baaba Maal, Wynto

The Next 3-Hour RAW, The Miz In NYC, Booker T, More

Variety posted an article about USA Network hosting their annual Upfront event for advertisers today in New York City. The Miz is expected to appear for WWE, but Variety claims that several WWE stars will appear. Variety wrote: “USA plans to rock Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall with perfs from Erykah Badu and the Dap-Kings and D.J. Mark Ronson. Appearances by a few of the ‘WWE Raw’ wrestlers and a slew of other USA talent will probably be enough to keep over-fed, over-watered buyers and journos from dozing off.”
– Booker T will appear at the Wizard World Chicago Comic Con taking place August 9-12 in Rosemont, Illinois. CM Punk, John Morrison and Maryse Ouellet are also scheduled to appear at the event, though Punk will only appear on August 11.
– Here are tonight’s confirmed WWE Superstars matches:
* Alex Riley vs. Heath Slater
* Lord Tensai vs. Tyson Kidd
* The Usos vs. Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger
– The 3-hour edition of WWE RAW in June will air on The Score at these times:

Rapper Wretch 32 cheers hometown Olympics

British rapper Wretch 32 says he is proud to appear at the London Olympics.

He's not competing, he's performing at concerts around the U.K. celebrating the Olympic torch's route as it travels to the games.

The Londoner will join Dizzee Rascal, The Wanted and Mark Ronson at a Hyde Park show in London July 26, the day before the Olympics' opening ceremony.

Wretch 32 said: ''I wanted to be involved as much as I possibly could because it's such a big deal ... I'm going to be telling my kids and my grandkids I was part of the campaign.''

Wretch 32 is currently on tour. His latest single ''Hush Little Baby'' will be released May 27.

These days he says he works out on stage - joking that he could easily have been an Olympian, if it wasn't for the sweating.

New Music: Amy Winehouse Feat. Nas – “Like Smoke”

I guess it’s technically not new music, but this is the first glimpse into Amy Winehouse’s 12-track album, “Lioness: Hidden Treasures,” a compilation of demos, covers and unreleased material which is due out Dec. 5.
Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi have joined forces to oversee the first posthumous album of the late Winehouse. Remi produced “Like Smoke,” which was initially recorded in 2008.

Here are the other songs on the album.
“Our Day Will Come (Reggae Version)” – reggae re-working of classic 60’s doo *** song produced by Salaam Remi. Recorded May 2002.
“Between The Cheats” – new Amy composition recorded in London in May 2008 for potential inclusion on album three produced by Salaam Remi.
“Tears Dry” – originally written by Amy as a ballad, this is the original version she recorded in November 2005 in Miami with Salaam. The later uptempo version appears on “Back To Black”.
“Wake Up Alone” – the first song recorded for the “Back To Black” sessions. This is the on
