Easy To Hate Movie Villains

A few weeks back, we checked out some movie villains that made you want to root for the bad guy. This time, we are going to go in the opposite direction, finding antagonists that seem to rub you the wrong way as soon as the opening credits hit. Thankfully, all of them are now either taking dirt naps, or been so humiliated they dare not show their face in cinema again. Got some more villains you love to hate? Leave them in the comments section.

Judge Elihu Smails, ‘Caddyshack’
Ted Knight absolutely kills it as the sumg, country club golfer with too much money on his hands. A complete putz with a dreadful golf game, Smails makes you laugh every time he chokes on one of his putts. And all he had to do was watch and learn from Chevy Chase. Some young, upstart caddies, as well as the hilarious Rodney Dangerfield, put the judge in his place throughout the movie.
Commodus, ‘Gladiator’
This sad excuse for an emperor hit the trifecta: murderer, sissified, and incestuous. Commodus, played by Joaquin Phoenix,

Vote: If You Were a Hockey East Coach, What Movie Would You Use to Motivate Your Team for the Playoffs?

Some coaches will use anything to motivate their players, whether it’s an emotional speech or a movie to get their point across.
Jerry York seems to have a Hoosiers-esque quality about him. He has been coaching Boston College for 39 years now, and is inching closer to his eighth Hockey East title.
Jack Parker, who recently stated his time with the Boston University Terriers has come to a close, will look to capture his fourth NCAA crown to seal his 40-year coaching career. UMass Lowell’s second-year head coach, Norm Bazin, has put his River Hawks on top, and with the semifinals on the horizon, his presence has been felt on the bench.
All of those coaches are great, but if you wanted to get an extra edge, what movie would you use? Would it be Miracle, the story behind the 1980 US Olympic team? Or would you choose Mel Gibson‘s Braveheart to lead your players into battle? If you’re an underdog, you might want to choose Remember the Titans, The Mighty Ducks or Hoosiers.

Phillies Sign Mel Gibson…I Mean Delmon Young

Phillies Sign Mel Gibson Delmon Young
In what may amount to one of the most interesting/weird signings for the Phillies this offseason, a 1-year, $750,000 deal for outfielder Delmon Young is now on the books. He is cheap, but this kid has issues. This past April, Young was arrested for a Mel Gibson-esque, alcohol-infused episode in which he hurled anti-Semetic slurs at a group of people in New York City before a game against the Yankees.
Back in 2006, Young was suspended for 50 games from the International League after throwing his bat which hit an umpire in the chest. In 2005, Young received a three-game suspension for bumping a minor-league umpire.
Young has also been ridiculed for his horrific defense and as a result, he was used mostly as a DH in 2012. He posted a .947 fielding percentage with the Tigers over 31 games. That ranks him 267th among all outfielders in the majors.
To recap, Young hates Jews, umpires, and fielding balls. The only family-friendly thing I can think of t...

Big East the latest realignment casualty

Everything will change. Everything has changed.
It’s a notable line from ‘The Patriot,’ the Revolutionary War film starring Mel Gibson. It’s a lament from General Cornwallis upon the British surrender at Yorktown, one final musing from a man who couldn’t understand how an “army of rabble” had upset the existing order in the New World and gained independence.
It’s a lesson that clearly has been lost on some university presidents and athletic directors. Realignment surged back into the college basketball discussion late last week with the breakaway of the so-called Catholic 7 from the Big East, a defection of four of the conference’s founding members in a preemptive strike against its football playing brethren.

The next steps are much too complicated to be discussed here. Naming rights, NCAA shares, the future of the conference tournament at Madison Square Garden and automatic postseason bids all need to be hammered out before the deal is...

Mel Gibson Caught A UCLA Basketball Game, Might Have Glanced At A Cheerleader

The UCLA Bruins opened their brand new Pauley Pavilion with an 86-59 win over Indiana State Saturday night, which means that NCAA Men’s Basketball is underway and people can begin pretending like anything matters before March. But the actual reason that I’m bringing this up is that once-celebrated star of awesome movies like Braveheart, Lethal Weapon 1-3 (4 never happened) and the wildly underrated Payback, Mel Gibson, was in attendance with his son, because what the hell else is a guy who destroyed his career gonna do on a Saturday night?Of course, because he’s been branded as a psychopathic, woman-beating, anti-Semitic, racist in recent years, people don’t necessarily like Gibson that much. That’s why it shouldn’t surprise anyone that his reception by Bruins fans was less than warm.During a stoppage in play the Lethal Weapon(s) star was featured on the new HD jumbotrons hanging over center court, in a montage of notable attendees. When Gibson appeared on the screen and a chorus o...

Australian sports personality Sam Newman—whose list of controversies would make Mel Gibson proud—spouted off during the recent Olympics that taekwondo was “the most ridiculous thing [he’s] ever seen.” Clearly the show that Newman’s a featured presenter on—the Australian Football League’s version of The Footy Show—doesn’t necessarily agree with the outspoken host’s views, seeing that they had two of Australia’s Olympic representatives in the martial art of taekwondo on the show to rebut Newman’s opinions of their sport.
Real life couple Safwan Khalil and Carmen Marton took turns doling out some comeuppance to a well protected Newman in the form of a few powerful kicks that thrice dropped the 66-year-old like a bag of dirt. You have to give props to Newman for not retracting his statement and apologizing when he had the chance, before getting his ass kicked on television. Of course, had he taken back his comments on the ridiculousness of taekwondo he probably wouldn’t have beco

Renegade Cop 2

Mel Gibson is at it again. Just when everyone was beginning to put his anti-Semitic ramblings in the past, Mel released the sequel, going on another rant threatening to murder Oksana Grigorieva and praising John Lennon's killer. But you know Mel, he needs to stay in the spot light, whether it's going on another pitiful rant that just rehashes the same principles of the last one, or making another pitiful movie, that just rehashed the same principles of the last one--like his most recent film: Renegade Cop 2.

Audio of Mel Gibson going on a rampage yet again

Mel Gibson is best known for going on tirades at anybody and everybody who happens to be in his way from time to time. Fortunately for us we have yet another audio piece of him going absolutely berserk. Gibson was in Costa Rica to go over the film script for upcoming movie The Maccabees. I'm not really sure what happened but something caused him a great deal of grief which turned into him screaming at screenwriter Joe Eszterhas.Has nobody thought to put Gibson on medication or is this how he acts on medication? Because if this is how he's acting on medication somebody may want to put him down, or always keep him away from other people. I've seen people flip out a few times in my life but never to this scale. I'm guessing that actors view the world a little differently than everybody else and an outburst like this is just a normal thing to do. Well us back here in the real world think you're a psycho Mel, you might want to take a deep breath next time. I also en...

Move over Mel Gibson: The Canucks are the real Road Warriors

Canucks leave Detroit in a Statistical Storm
Vancouver’s premier ice hockey team emerged from a simply thrilling game in Motown with a dizzying array of numbers floating around their collective conscience, much like a scene from Russell Crowe’s spell binding mathematical thinker ‘A Beautiful Mind’.
Most importantly and certainly most impressively, the Canucks broke the back of The Detroit Red Wings’ 23 game home winning streak, coming out victorious in a thriller comprising a lofty total of 79 shots between the two teams.
The final result was ultimately thanks to another crafty deke and backhand off the stick of Alex Burrows, who is now 5 for 9 this season in the shootout, for an impressive scoring average of 55.5% (making him the lone Canuck over 50% this season).
It is a move that the vast majority of the NHL’s goaltenders must know is close to inevitable in its coming, but has proved very hard to stop.
On a very personal note for David Booth, he played his 344th game in the NHL against the Win
