Judging by the picture of assistant referee Frederick Geldhof lying on the pitch in obvious pain after being hit in the head while officiating a Belgian Jupiler League match last Saturday between Lierse and Zulte Waregem, you’d think he was hit by a rock, beer can, or some other projectile designed to do some damage. The video is even more dramatic, with the Belgian referee stumbling 6-7 steps before dropping to the ground, until a player rushes to his aid.
