Week 15 NFL cheat sheet

Remember that team in New York that lost 49-19 to the Patriots a few weeks ago?

The one that surrendered 21 points in 52 seconds in front of a national television audience? The amazing "butt fumble" play that set Twitter ablaze? The team that had Aunt Janice and Cousin Sally asking, "Wait, that's not supposed to happen, is it?" while they ate their dessert on Thanksgiving night?

Remember the horrible, awful, embarrassing 2012 New York Jets?

The team that held a news conference with more than 80 media-credentialed reporters for the arrival of their backup quarterback in March? The one that green-lit ESPN coming down for an entire week of training camp in August?

The team that Fireman Ed the franchise's unofficial team mascot abandoned via an op-ed in a New York City newspaper after Week 12?

Those Jets? Well, don't look now, but they're currently winners of two straight games, three out of their past four, and are somehow just one game out of the crowded AFC playoff

Michigan Fans Beg for Anyone to Take Them Seriously

The basketball game this Saturday night between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan has significance beyond the regular season Big 10 title hopes of both schools. Michigan has not won a Big 10 men’s basketball title since 1985 or a football title since it shared with Iowa in 2004. So while a title is important, it’s not guaranteed with a win. What is guaranteed is the ability to say they split the season series with their nemesis from the south. Yes, a Buckeye basketball team that is loaded with talent will be playing for Thad Matta’s 5th Big 10 regular season championship since 2005 as the Big 10 regular season hits the home stretch.

Michigan’s football program defeated Ohio State for only the second time in the past ten years this past November, and it’s given the fans up north a sense of hope and purpose. Never mind the head coach with no experience, the scandals and the 18-year-old freshman QB, it was their chance to beat a weak Ohio State team and they barely pulled it off at

NFL Red Carpet: Super Bowl XLVI Awards

The 2011 NFL season has ended with the New York Giants making history as the first 9-7 champions in NFL history, and the NFL awards are here to celebrate with the best and worst from Super Sunday.

The "seven year ache" award goes to the New England Patriots
Because it's been that long since the once-mighty NFL dynasty won the Super Bowl, having now lost each of their last two appearances to the Giants. And while that might be great news to the rest of the Football Nation (see what I did there?), to our friends in Massachusetts, it' has to seem more like seven thousand years. While accepting the award, Bill Belichick just stared eveily off into the distance as if plotting the team's still-anticipated-by-many return to greatness.

The "Yoko Ono" award goes to Gisele Bundchen
Award was handed out due to mounting public pressure in New England to blame anybody and everybody other than the Golden Boy himself for the Pats' failure to launch in the bigg...

What I Never Knew About Annie Leibovitz's Shot of John Lennon and Yoko Ono (Toronto Mike)

Everybody knows the iconic photo of John Lennon and Yoko Ono in bed taken by Annie Leibovitz for Rolling Stone magazine, but did you know this pic was taken only 5 hours before John Lennon was shot?

I had no idea.
By the way, Mark David Chapman has thus far cheated us of thirty-one years of John Lennon's music. That really, really sucks.

Cultural events will take over Scottish castles, ancient English monuments and every corner of London as part of a giant arts festival running in conjunction with the 2012 Olympics.

The lineup for the 12-week London 2012 Festival, announced by organizers Friday, ranges from pop-up William Shakespeare to vintage Alfred Hitchcock, and includes artists, musicians, writers and performers from Britain and around the world.

The festival opens June 21, 2012 - Midsummer's Day - with a series of concerts across the country, and runs to Sept. 9.

Musical participants range from Senegal's Baaba Maal to the San Francisco-based Kronos Quartet, and from Daniel Barenboim's West Eastern Divan Orchestra to Venezuela's Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra.

Britain's most famous cultural export, Shakespeare, plays a big part, with international festivals of the playwright's work staged by the Royal Shakespeare Company and Shakespeare's Globe theater.

John Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, is launching a global campaign to help fight childhood hunger and poverty. On Nov. 1, Ono, 78, is asking people around the world to join her "Imagine There's No Hunger" campaign, a fund-raising program inspired by Lennon's classic song, she said, according to the Associated Press.

NFL to Exhume Hendrix for Next Super Bowl Halftime

The NFL is looking to partner with Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and other groups to fund a billion-dollar project to exhume Jimi Hendrix and bring him back to life to perform at next year’s Super Bowl halftime show.
After the horrifying debacle that was the Black Eyed Peas attempt at a musical performance, the league has set aside large sums of money not related to their ongoing revenue dispute with the players in hopes that they could make next year’s show better.
Coming Back From Dead to Play Halftime?
“We looked into the idea of trying to get John Lennon,” one league source told us, “and we actually spoke to Yoko Ono, but she said something about getting a million people to stand in a straight line from some sacred Scandinavian territory to Iceland or something.
