Where did your appreciation for the sport of snowboarding and your drive to be a professional come from growing up? I always enjoyed being outside and doing sports growing up. My parents were really supportive and encouraged me to be active and go after my dreams. I was never pushed to pursue snowboarding or any sport for that mater, my parents really left it up to me. There were no X-games or Olympics when I started snowboarding at the age of 7, i always say I started before it was cool. In high school is really when my Olympic dreams developed and it was then that I knew what I wanted to pursue. 2. The biggest event in snowboarding drew the sport’s best riders, who showcased record-breaking tricks, halfpipe skills, and their slope style. Fashion has become a huge part of the snowboarding world. Male and female competitors continued to display sleek on-course designs full of vibrant hues, bold patterns, technical fabrics, and a more streamlined fit. Many riders work closely with their apparel sponsors to collaborate on special collections. They have input in the design process and as a result, fans get a glimpse into their personal style through their competitive gear. The Burton US Open was another trendsetting competition, worthy of its own sartorial highlights reel. The snowboarding championships ran from February 25th – March 2nd and Burton riders Kelly Clark and Hannah Teter completed another competition with great success. His work finished for the day, White was simply having fun with his final pass through the pipe, an all too customary victory lap. Once at the bottom, he tossed his goggles to a fan and then waved farewell to the audience. With that, White called it a season, going out in style by defending his title at the U.S. open snowboarding championships on Saturday. He went big in his opening run, holding little back, and only got better on his second pass when he turned in the high score of 95.58 points. Japanese teenager Ayumu Hirano finished second and Louie Vito of Sandy, Utah, took third. Later in the day, Kelly Clark captured her sixth U.S. Open halfpipe title, the most in the history of the competition.
