NY Giants 2013 starting lineup predictions

It’s still early in the New York Giants offseason, but Giants fans have a lot of time to waste until training camp finally gets here. So let’s make an early starting lineup prediction to get a snapshot of what the team will look like in 2013.
Quarterback: Eli Manning
No brainer here, but Curtis Painter will have to find a new job with Ryan Nassib in town. David Carr may be threatened by Nassib in the future, but I can’t see the Giants getting rid of a quality backup until Nassib is clearly as good as he’s made out to be... Read more

Shocking cuts by Ravens include former starting QB Curtis Painter...

I'm blown away by the news of Curtis Painter's getting the axe from the Ravens...I seriously thought Painter had outplayed backup QB Tyrod Taylor over the course of the preseason...Curtis Painter has left the building...despite what I saw as a superior pocket presence and a supremely more accurate arm compared to Tyrod Taylor...These cuts never cease to amaze me.Former Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback Curtis Painter headlined the list of 16 players waived by the Baltimore Ravens on Friday as the team trimmed its roster down to the mandatory 53-man limit.
Also waived by Baltimore was running back Anthony Allen, a seventh-round pick by the team in last year's draft, who lost out in a battle with 2012 third- rounder Bernard Pierce, and undrafted rookie Bobby Rainey, to be the primary backups to All-Pro Ray Rice.
The Ravens placed six players on injured reserve as well on Friday, including rookie wide receiver and sixth-round draft choice Tommy Streeter.

Curtis Painter Cut By Ravens

The Ravens cut former Colts quarterback Curtis Painter amongst a bevy of roster moves on Friday.Fantasy Spin:With Joe Flacco ahead of him on the depth chart, Painter never had a realistic chance to succeed in Baltimore so it's no surprise that they gave him the boot on cut day. Painter hasn't shown us much in his first three years of professional football (66.6 career QB rating) and we're guessing teams will be hesitant to sign him unless somebody gets injured. There's no fantasy upside here.

Ravens sign backup quarterback

I apologize for not writing this sooner, but I have been busy with my real job and a career change.
The Ravens signed Curtis Painter to a one-year contract last week.
Painter was the Colts quarterback for a few games last season before being pulled in favor of Dan Orlovsky.
There’s a chance Painter doesn’t make the team, but he would more than likely serve as the third quarterback if he does make the team.

Ravens sign former Colts QB Curtis Painter

The Baltimore Ravens have signed former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Curtis Painter to a one-year contract

Baltimore announced the move but did not release financial terms of the deal.

Painter worked out for the Ravens Thursday along with former Baltimore starter Kyle Boller and former Pittsburgh backup Dennis Dixon.

The 25-year-old Painter will compete with Tyrod Taylor to backup Baltimore starter Joe Flacco.

Painter, 6-foot-3 and 222 pounds, played in Indianapolis for Ravens quarterbacks coach Jim Caldwell, who was hired by Baltimore this offseason.

Painter, a former backup for Peyton Manning, started eight games for the Colts.

He was winless as a starter, passing for 1,541 yards, six touchdowns and nine interceptions.

The former sixth-round draft pick from Purdue was benched late in the season and replaced by Dan Orlovsky.

Delusional Curtis Painter excited for opportunity to lead Colts into a new era

INDIANAPOLIS—Upon hearing of the Colts’ release of franchise quarterback Peyton Manning, Curtis Painter, who took a majority of the snaps for the Colts last season in Manning’s absence, called teammates, staff and assorted members of the media to inform them that he was ready to lead the Colts into the post-Manning era.

“I totally got this,” said a painfully misinformed Painter. “I learned a lot from Peyton and a lot last year, so now I’m ready to be the #1 guy.” Painter, who somehow has no clue that the Colts will be drafting Andrew Luck to be their new franchise quarterback, was fully confident that he’d be under center next fall.

“I won’t let you guys down,” said Painter, which was technically correct, though not in the manner he had intended, as Painter will never be given a chance to do so.

Painter to start at QB for Colts this weekend

Curtis Painter will be given at least one more chance to lead the Indianapolis Colts to their first victory of the season.Painter was tabbed as the starting quarterback for Sunday's encounter with the Carolina Panthers despite being replaced in the fourth quarter of the Colts' previous game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Nov. 13.With the team enjoying a bye last week, Indianapolis considered benching Painter in favor of backup Dan Orlovsky but ultimately decided its best chance of snapping a 10-game losing skid was with Painter on the field.Painter has completed 54.7 percent of his passes, throwing for 1,315 yards with five touchdowns and seven interceptions. He hasn't thrown a touchdown pass since Week 6.

Wilson: Painter may start

In a slow news week, Philip B. Wilson believes thanks to Polian's support Curtis Painter may get the start:
It sounds like Caldwell will make that determination Wednesday. I expect Painter to stick as the starter, if for no other reason than vice chairman Bill Polian’s continual support of the QB. Polian has doggedly maintained Painter hasn’t played as badly as some of us think. But the offensive numbers don’t lie. The Colts have scored 27 points combined in four games.

Colts QB Painter not a lock to retain starting job

Curtis Painter could lose his starting quarterback job when the winless Indianapolis Colts return from their bye week.
Painter has been benched in each of the past two games by Colts coach Jim Caldwell, who said he will wait before making a decision on his Week 12 starter.
"We don't play for a while yet, and really we're evaluating everything all across the board, not necessarily just that position," Caldwell said. "We do have a chance to see where everybody is."
Indianapolis (0-10) has failed to score an offensive touchdown in the past two games, the first time that's happened since 1997 - the pre-Peyton Manning era.
Painter was thrust into the starting lineup in Week 5 after Kerry Collins suffered a concussion.
He has thrown for fewer than 100 yards in three of his last four starts, and has been yanked in favor of journey Dan Orlovsky in the past two weeks.
For the season, Painter has completed only 51.7 percent of his passes (125 of 242) and ...

Colts favored vs. the bye

We used to joke that no one beats the bye. Luckily, the Colts likely can't lose either according to Reggie Hayes:
Curtis Painter walked off the field Sunday and saw his shadow. That means six more weeks of bad Colts football.
I should clarify. We'll have one week of no Colts football – they have a bye next Sunday and are currently three-point favorites – before the six-week no-victory march to Andrew Luck.

Indianapolis Colts announced QB Curtis Painter remains the starter

Despite being yanked with 10 minutes remaining in their loss to the Atlanta Falcons yesterday, the Indianapolis Colts have stated that QB Curtis Painter will remain the starter moving forward. Painter has yet to log a win for the Colts this season and has looked bad in several appearances this season.
Painter was named the starter for the Colts after veteran QB Kerry Collins suffered a reported concussion in Week Three. The Colts passing offense is currently ranked 28th in the NFL, averaging a paltry 182 yards per game through the air.Painter has 5 touchdowns in six starts this season.
Indianapolis is currently the only remaining winless team in the NFL and will host the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week Ten. The Colts have shown weakness in nearly every facet of the game so far this season and if the Colts are unable to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in one of their two remaining divisional games, it is likely that Indianapolis will join the Detroit Lions as the only NFL tea...

Colts to retain Painter as starting QB

Curtis Painter will remaining the starting quarterback in Indianapolis despite being pulled in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons.Painter was replaced by Dan Orlovsky after completing 13 for 27 passes for just 98 yards with an interception. It marked the third consecutive game Painter was held without a touchdown pass for the Colts, who fell to 0-9 with Sunday's 31-7 defeat.Indianapolis has been abysmal at the quarterback position since learning franchise star Peyton Manning would miss most - if not all - of the season with a serious neck injury.Kerry Collins was largely ineffective before being forced out with a concussion, and Painter hasn't been much better in going 0-6 as a starter.

Curtis Painter Is Ugly…

In an NFL season featuring several surprising turnaround teams such as the Lions, Bills, and 49ers, no team has fallen harder this season than the Indianapolis Colts. It has been extremely rough on Colts fans, and it has not made it any easier on them having to be forced to stare at Curtis Painter’s face week in and week out. Don’t get me wrong, his interceptions, his over throws, and his lack of any skill tug at the hearts of Colts fans, but truly its that goddamn mug of his that rips their hearts out like Lloyd Christmas in a dream sequence.
The problem starts with the hair. Everyone knows that male middle-parts died with Jonathon Taylor Thomas. Some players have the ability to rock the long locks (Troy Polamalu, Clay Matthews, Matthew Stafford, etc.), Curtis Painter is not one of them. I think it pains Colts fans most just knowing that he wakes up every morning looks himself in the mirror, and decides to start his day. However it’s not just the awful wannabe Spicoli hair that make...
