One thing is for sure, the Mets will be able to find a catcher this off-season.On the trade front, rumored to be available are Kelly Shoppach, John Buck, Chris Snyder, Ryan Doumit, Gerald Laird and Brandon Inge ( if you consider him a catcher ). If the team is unwilling to give up pieces for a catcher then they can sign Bengie Molina, Rob Barajas, Yorvit Torrealba or one of about 10 other free agent catchers. Sources close to the Mets are saying they are in talks with the Pittsburgh Pirates regarding catcher Ronny Paulino. Whether this takes place before the July 31st trading deadline or in the offseason remains the question. Paulino is a young catcher who doesn't draw attention to himself, with his best playing days ahead of him; unlike the thirty-five year old Lo Duca.
