Last Wednesday the Minnesota Twins announced that Boof Bonser, a 28 year old right handed reliever/starter was going to miss the entire 2009 season.
Boof Bonser Needs Shoulder Surgery

Generally once spring training begins, managers have two key worries that they put before everything else: get players in shape, and keep them healthy. If the role of fifth starter isn't quite settled by the first game in April, it's not good, but it's not horrible either. The team still has 162 ...

What About Boof?

Not long after Boof Bonser's sentence to the bullpen, I analyzed Boof's pitching through the use of pitch f/x. My conclusion at the time was that his slider, a pitch he threw nearly a quarter of the time to righties, was flattening out at that time in the season, resulting in an unexpectedly high .288/.322/.441 batting line against righties as of June 14th. Still, at the conclusion of the season, Bonser had improved his approach against the same-sided opponents, dropping his batting...

Chad Ocho Cinco's Identity Crisis

By now we all know that the wide receiver formerly known as Chad Johnson is now legally known as Chad Ocho Cinco. And he will be known as Ocho Cinco on all club business, including the back of his jersey during Sunday's game at Baltimore.

The websites of the various big hitters on the web have been slower to recognize Ocho Cinco's new name. If John Bonser can become Boof Bonser, then anything else can pass too, right? ESPN and Yahoo! were quick on the draw, but NFL.com and CBS Sports were as of this writing still a wee bit apprehensive about changing it around. If that's his name, that's his name!

Boof Banter: An Interview with Boof Bonser

You know the name now get to know the man...Boof Bonser made his Twins debut in 2006 after arriving along with Joe Nathan and Francisco Liriano in the A.J. Pierzynski trade and has won 15 games in less than two full campaigns.

Bonser recently shared some time to discuss how the potential departure of Torii Hunter would effect the club, the Twins rotation for next year, and why if you're talking King Kong -- Boof is there.
