      <description>Phillies 1st baseman Ryan Howard struck out 4 times and was 1-2 in the count in the 10th before singling to centerfield to drive in the winning run.  Starter Kyle Kendrick threw 1 run, 6 hit ball for 6 innings while striking out 6, the bullpen was again 1 single short of perfection over the last 4 innings while pitchers' indifference; Nationals' reliever Jesus Colome's failure to cover first base on Shane Victorino's ground single to first cleared the way for the Phillies final 2 runs in their 4-1 10th inning win over the Washington Nationals.</description>

      <title>Phillies Beat Nationals in Game 2, Keep Pace with the Mets</title>
      <description>Phillies 1st baseman Ryan Howard, leftfielder Pat Burrell and 2nd baseman  Jimmy Rollins all homered off of losing pitcher Shawn Hill.  Howard had a perfect 4-4 day with two RBIs and lacked only a triple to hit for cycle as Adam Eaton won ugly in 5 innings of work as the Phillies beat the Washington Nationals in the 2nd game of their 4 game series by a 6-3 score.</description>
