We know you like reading the articles, so why not talk about them too?

By: SugarJoe

Thanks to everyone for supporting the blog so far! We've seen a heck of a spike in traffic, and Mark and I are happy to see so many people taking the time to visit. We also realize that by having such an audience, we have to keep the articles fresh and entertaining, which won't be an issue.

A couple of handy links to our message board are http://domersportsreport.proboards84.com/index.cgi (index) and http://domersportsreport.proboards84.com/index.cgi?action=register (registration).

Mike Brey Signs Contract Extension Through 2015

Notre Dame has announced that men's head basketball coach Mike Brey has been given a contract extension through the 2014-2015 season. Brey has successfully gone from the hot seat to the catbird seat, guiding the Irish to a 25-8 record, the third highest win total in program history, and a program-best 14-4 Big East record during the 2007-2008 season.

With renovations to the Joyce Center on tap, let's hope that Brey can keep the recruiting and on-court momentum going.

Marlon Pollard Becomes 10th Irish Verbal

When Darrin Walls committed to the Irish three years ago, he became the lone shining star in a pitifully weak corps of corners. My, how the times have changed! Charlie Weis and crew have worked tirelessly to restock the cupboard, and took another huge step today when Marlon Pollard officially decommitted from UCLA and became the 10th verbal commitment for Notre Dame's 2009 recruiting class.

First Look: Purdue Boilermakers

In this week's First Look, the Purdue Boilermakers offer up a unique situation. With a departing coach in Joe Tiller, a dynamite quarterback in Curtis Painter, and more question marks than answers, the boys from West Lafayette could surprise more than a few around the Big Ten in 2008. Following the first losing season in more than a decade, the Boilermakers rebounded with consecutive eight-win seasons, yet managed to be far less than impressive along the way. Can this team overcome some major obstacles and send Tiller out on a high note? I'm not sure it will be a season to remember, but there's no reason Purdue couldn't go bowling this Christmas.

The Irish and the ACC, a perfect match?

File this post under the "way too much time on my hand" blogs. I was thinking this morning, as I read an article somewhere about how Notre Dame once again is ripping off NBC for several more years by giving them real bad football games, and this thought came into my head: "What would have happened if instead of Boston College, the Atlantic Coast Conference would have gotten Notre Dame?"
