Rhymes got on his horse and bypassed the easy stand-up triple for a chance at an inside-the-park home run. The relay throw home was off the mark which caused Ole Miss catcher Stuart Turner come up the line, which resulted in Turner unintentionally taking out Rhymes at the knees, sending him head-over-heels. The Tigers leftfielder landed hard but still managed to touch home plate for the inside-the-park homer, which put LSU up 5-o at the time, en route to their 7-1 victory. The win gave 47-7 LSU 22 wins in the SEC , which tied the single season team record set in 1986 and 1997.
