Baylor Coach Art Briles knows how to use Twitter

Baylor Bears head coach Art Briles knows how to utilize Twitter. On Monday, he tweeted out his congratulations to two former Baylor cheerleaders that made the final round of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleading tryouts. If you think high school football players aren’t paying attention to how attractive the cheerleaders/girls at Baylor are, then you are sadly mistaken. Well done, Coach Briles.

Would Dominic Woodson Reconsider NC State?

Last November center Dominic Woodson, the 80th ranked player in the 2013 class, picked the Baylor Bears. However, after Isaiah Austin and Cory Jefferson both opted to return to school, suddenly there wasn’t a lot of space in Baylor’s front court. So It appears Woodson has had second thoughts and de-committed from Baylor.

So what next for the 6-9, 245 center?
I don’t know, but that doesn’t mean I can’t speculate. The way I see it, you got a guy considering two girls to take to prom. After picking one, he soon breaks up with her, thus logic says that other girl would be the top choice. Who was Woodson’s other possible prom date?
According to Scout.com, it was NC State:

“I have two schools left and I’m going to make my decision pretty soon,” Woodson said. “I’m down to NC State and Baylor. I took visits to both of them. I just got back from Baylor this weekend.”

Obviously this is college recruiting, which usually means, we take logic and shove it head first out a ten-story window, bu

Report: Baylor Transfer Deuce Bello Heading To Missouri

Mizzou basketball landed yet another big name transfer today with the addition of former Baylor forward Deuce Bello. Terez Paylor confirmed the news on Twitter today.

Just got off the phone with former Baylor SF Deuce Bello. As @gabedearmond first reported, Bello has decided to transfer to #Mizzou.
— Terez A. Paylor (@TerezPaylor) May 20, 2013
Bello will have to sit out next year before he is eligible to play for the 2014-15 season. Tigers coach Frank Haith will most likely look for an immediate impact out of Bello, who was a four-star prospect and ranked as one of the top forwards in the nation coming out of high school.
Bello was never able to become much of a contributor with the Bears, averaging just over 10 minutes per game in his first two seasons. He committed to Baylor along with his high school teammate Quincy Miller, but it was Miller who became a star, not Bello. At the end of this past season, Bello decided to transfer to a school where he could get more playing time. I...

Griner: Baylor told me to keep quiet about sexuality

Former Baylor Bears standout Brittney Griner is undoubtedly one of the best women's college basketball players to ever play the game. Griner also happens to be gay, which she publicly revealed in an interview with SI.com in April. Now, a new report has surfaced regarding Griner coming out to the public. The WNBA's No. 1 overall pick reportedly told ESPN.com that she was instructed by Bears head coach Kim Mulkey to keep her sexuality private because Mulkey believed it would hurt recruiting.“It was a recruiting thing,” Griner said during an interview with ESPN The Magazine and espnW. “The coaches thought that if it seemed like they condoned it, people wouldn’t let their kids come play for Baylor.”"It was more of a unwritten law [to not discuss your sexuality] ... it was just kind of, like, one of those things, you know, just don't do it," Griner said Friday. "They kind of tried to make it, like, 'Why put your business out on the street like that?'&quo...

Jefferson staying for senior season

Cory Jefferson is staying at Baylor for his senior season.

Jefferson, the 6-foot-9 forward who is on track to get his undergraduate degree in August, said Thursday he will stay and play his final season of eligibility.

After finally becoming a starter, Jefferson led the Big 12 Conference making 61 percent of his field goals (191 of 313) for the NIT champion Bears. He was 11th in the league with 13.3 points a game and fourth with 8.0 rebounds while starting all 37 games.

Jefferson started only one of his first 55 games. He spent his freshman season behind Ekpe Udoh, the sixth overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft. He redshirted before a year behind Quincy Acy, Perry Jones III and Quincy Miller, all NBA draft picks last June.

Junior college standout point guard Kenny Chery has signed a national letter of intent with NIT champion Baylor.

Chery, a 6-foot guard who played the past two seasons at State Fair Community College in Missouri, signed Wednesday. Three post players signed with the Bears during the early period in November.

Chery, from Canada, averaged 16.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 26 games last season, when he made 45 percent of his 3-pointers.

Baylor's point guard this season was senior Pierre Jackson, an All-Big 12 pick and the league's top scorer at 19.8 points a game. Jackson was a junior college transfer when he joined the Bears two years ago.

Baylor’s New Football Uniforms

Earlier this year, Baylor running backs coach Jeff Lebby tweeted a picture of a new helmet Baylor would debut, and now pictures of the entire uniforms the Baylor Bears will sport this upcoming season are out.
Along with Lebby, coach Art Briles has also tweeted pictures of the new helmets and uniforms, and they look good. The traditional green top, gold bottom uniform looks almost the same as previous seasons and the new all-white uniforms have minor changes to the tops, but it is the all-black uniforms with gold chrome helmets that are the boldest of the new uniforms.

What I find more interesting is the possibility that we could have our next internet craze here (unless it already was and I am waaaaay behind). The move is easy, the tune is catchy, with over 11 million hits on YouTube the song by the GSBoyz must be popular:
