CFP Predicts Buckeye's over Dawgs in NC game and other major bowls

Now i know you can only take this things with a grain of salt because its pre-season but Ohio State not losing a a NC to an SEC team is hard to belive (just kidding Buckeye fans)
NC game: Ohio State vs. Georgia
Rose Bowl: USC vs. Wisconsin
Sugar: WVU vs. Oregon (really really?)
Fiesta: BYU vs Kansas (really really?)
Orange: Florida vs VT
I think that only the orange rose and NC are possible but Fiesta and Sugar are ridiculous. Oregon is reloading and Kansas was a one-year wonder. Want some thoughts from the yard...

Devine was among the top 25 incoming freshmen recruits last season and despite his lack of playing time, the West Virginia faithful had high expectations - and look to carry that momentum in 2008.

And when, exactly, did the Big Ten ask for your advice?

Sean Jackson, one of these CFN bloggers, had a coherent (that was about it) write up on how the Big Ten can be better in 2008. Now, I won't get into the fact that he's just one of the many talking about the Big Ten as if it's the MAC or even the Big East circa 2004. Jackson just made some fundamental mistakes in his assessment of the conference going into 2008, mistakes which should have been, at the very least, addressed by CFN before publishing the article.

NCAA Football 2009 comes out today! You gonna buy it?

So the day has finally arrived for those die-hard NCAA Football gamers, because 2009 comes out today. The question is, as always, how different is it from 2008 aside from the roster changes? Are there enough changes to motivated consumers in this economy to purchase the $60 game (PS3/XBOX)? Personally, I'm always interested in playing the most recent sports game, so I'll probably get it. But then I realized that the Bears have their first cover boy of all time on a video game so I have to buy it! Our former punt returner specialist and sometimes flashy WR DeSean Jackson graces the cover of the PS2 game. So, will you be purchasing the new game for your system? Darren McFadden graces the XBOX cover, Matt Ryan is on the PS3 cover, Michigan State's Sparty is on the Wii, and some West Virginia fullback is on the PSP cover.

Heisman Watch: Pat White

Outside of Florida, there may not be a team that leans more on one player than the Mountaineers do with Pat White. White enters his senior year as one of the nation's top dual-threat quarterbacks and a frontrunner to contend for the Heisman Trophy.

Big East Fantasy Preview

Athlon's fantasy conference previews continue with the Big East. How will the high-powered West Virginia attack adapt to a new head coach? Rutgers' wideout Kenny Britt is just one of many Scarlet Knight fantasy options in 2008. What about the UConn defense?

Rich Rodriguez and Michigan to split the $4 million he owes West Virginia

This ugly story has finally reached a closing mark, as West Virginia and Rich Rodriguez finally agree to a settlement on the terms of his recent departure from the school to take over the Michigan job. Rodriguez and Michigan will split the $4 million settlement in order to put the incident to rest finally, with the University paying $2.5 million and Rodriguez $1.5 million. Either way, this was one of the worst divorces ever between a former school and coach, and this one is especially saucy because Rodriguez is an alum himself. All in all, I'm glad this is over so that we can focus on the play on the field, and not the ugly back story.

Rodriguez, UM Cough up Cash

Richie Rich will be a little lighter in the wallet soon. The woodchucks new coach has settled his contract dispute with WVU. In the end Rodriguez will pay $1.5 million (spread over three easy installments of just $500,000 each) while the U of M will pay $2.5 million up front. Oh, and they are going to cover the coaches' legal bills as well.

Adam Rittenberg is ESPN's new Big Ten Blogger, and he had this to say about the news-

But the prospect of avoiding a trial and having his new bosses — athletic director Bill Martin and university president Mary Sue Coleman — give depositions in the case surely will provide some degree of relief to Rodriguez and the Michigan camp. The timing of the agreement, just before a ruling in Michigan on whether Martin and Coleman had to give depositions, suggests Rodriguez wanted this to finally go away. Now he can enter preseason camp without a major distraction.

Good. We wouldn't want any distractions now would we? No distractions? I guess not, unless you count this painful memory as a distraction-

2008 Conference by Conference BreakDowns

So many of you may have seen my Top 25 Predictions I published back in January, and yes I agree it was way ahead of the game, and just may have been the first 2008 Top 25 out there. Rest assured with injuries, additions, and subtractions since February, that WILL BE updated in the near future. But in getting my ducks in line for my new Top 25 (should be issued within the next 2 weeks) I decided to first rank each conference Top ...
