Rudy Giuliani's kid refuses to admit that he's terrible at golf

Until recently Andrew Giuliani played golf for Duke University, which itself recently hired a new golf coach for Duke's then 13-member team. The new coach decided he wanted to cut the team in half: six or seven great golfers instead of a baker's dozen with a few hacks at the end of the quote-unquote bench. Talent evaluation in basketball, baseball or football is subjective; however, in golf, your score is your score. Deciding which players to cut is easy. There is no room for debate, and Andrew Giuliani's scores were not good.

Giuliani was worse than nearly the entire team (ranked #12 on Duke). So the coach cut him. Simple as that. But Giuliani is now suing the school, upset that Duke has thrown a wrench into his plans of becoming a professional golfer. Let me break it down for you, Andrew: If you're one of the worst players on your college team, good luck cutting it on the PGA Tour. Daddy's money helps in court, but it's not going to help you against Tiger Woods, who regardless has more money than Pops.

FROM THE LAWSUIT: "Andrew and his teammates were shocked. Andrew had no prior notice of what was about to happen. At no time was Andrew ever given an opportunity to defend himself."

No prior notice? No opportunity to defend himself? How about just being a better golfer. That would have helped. He should man up, stop crying, and practice harder. If you don't want to get cut, make yourself indispensable. Second to last doesn't exactly qualify.

OSU golfers shooting the links, connecting

Oregon State men's golfers Alex Williams and Vincent Johnson have had a busy summer. They recently defeated 59 other participants at the Broadmoor Golf Course on Sunday. That qualified the two for a trip to the United State Amateur Public Links Championship.

Only a few weeks ago, the two golfers earned All-Academic honors. Williams earned first-team honors while Johnson was a second-team selection.

Johnson earns his third career selection to the second-team all-academic squad as the senior carries a 3.12 GPA in business administration and will graduate this year. Williams, a junior with a 3.67 GPA in history, earns his second straight selection to the first-team all-academic squad......

Golf fan wins "Caddie for a Day" contest

Judy Engel, a longtime fan of golf pro Fuzzy Zoeller, won a contest put on by the Daytona Beach News-Journal that let her be Zoeller's golf caddy in last week's Cirrus Pro-Am. She was guaranteed to be caddy for six holes and was told it would be up to Zoeller how much longer she could stay. He let her stay for the whole 18 holes. "We met Fuzzy on the driving range and he was just a very, very nice man," Engel said. Is it even possible for a man named Fuzzy to be a mean person?

Coach apparently thinks golf is a contact sport, faces felony charges

Rick McCall, men's golf coach at Wesley College, is facing charges of felony reckless endangering, felony second-degree assault, resisting arrest, offensive touching (what does that even mean?), disorderly conduct, and reckless driving (of a car, not a golf ball) after getting in a scuffle on Feb. 28 at Maple Dale Country Club in Delaware. McCall alledgedly did a number of things, but highlighting everything was his reckless driving. McCall reportedly lunged his car at an officer, rolled the window up with the officer's arm in the car and started driving off with the officer hanging on! And he might have picked a better excuse than this when talking to investigators: "I'm just an excitable person."
