Despite the first round loss (I refuse to call it second round), it was a great season for the Crimson Tide. Alabama finished the season at 21-12, and made the NCAA Tournament for the first time in six years. There were higher expectations for the Tide entering this season, but all in all the 2011-12 basketball season should be viewed as a success. Alabama head coach Anthony Grant made major strides with the program in his third season at the helm. He dealt with disciplinary issues with some of the members of the team, but still was able to lead the team to the NCAA Tournament, and within one shot of advancing to the round of 32 without sacrificing the integrity of the program.
