This football team gets it

Remember when you watched football as a kid, be it on the television, or maybe going to see an older brother, cousin, friend, whatever, and your dad (or someone else) would always says "offense might win games but defense wins championships"?

Tar Heels trip up Irish 29-24

Jimmy Clausen threw for a career high in yards (383) for the third consecutive week, but the number that had the biggest impact on the game was 5. That is the amount of turnovers the Irish had on Saturday in Chapel Hill, NC as the Irish fell victims to the North Carolina Tar Heels for the first time in 48 years.

Great UNC Postgame Video

Looks like Keenan Stadium was the place to be on Saturday night. How 'bout those Tar Heels? Love the shots of Cam Sexton with the student section. Could we be looking at the Tar Heels in the Orange Bowl? They remind me of the Kansas Jayhawks last year.

Tar Heels beat the Fighting Irish

Carolina Football is on track to having one of the best years in a very long time. The No. 22 Tar heels pulled off an amazing win over Notre Dame Saturday. The game started with a less than impressive Carolina team, with Notre Dame scoring early and keeping the Tar Heels at bay. Carolina was 1-16 against Notre Dame which had many people worried that the boys would not be able to pull out a win in this game. The last time Carolina faced Notre Dame in Chapel Hill was 1975.

Dinich gives credit to the Heels

I went over to ESPN just to see what Heather Dinich, my most favorite ACC blogger at the World Leader in Sports, and, by the way, the only one, was saying about North Carolina. After the weeks of not giving any (or very little) love to the Heels I just had to see what she had to say about the awesome game between Notre Dame and North Carolina.

Rejoice Michigan Haters, Toledo Beats Michigan 13-10

For the 2nd year in a row, the Michigan Wolverines have been embarrassed in the Big House. Toledo beat Michigan 13-10. Last year, Appalacian St. beat the Wolverines.

This is the first time Michigan has EVER lost to a MAC team. They are off to the worst start in 41 years. Over the past two seasons, Michigan is 7-6 at home.

Michigan is now 2-4. Northwestern (5-1), Duke (3-2), Illinois (3-3), UNC (5-1), Stanford (3-3), and Vanderbilt (5-1) all have better records than Michigan.

Brandon Tate being looked at closely

Looking around the World Leader in Sports I found this very interesting article by Todd McShay (of Scouts Inc.). It speaks of five senior wide receivers on the upswing as their college career comes to an end and the NFL scouts will be watching them closely for next year's draft.
