Rutgers Wins and Covers at Army; Pro Gamblers Won Again

Rutgers destroyed Army 27-10 in a game that was never in doubt and no surprise to professional gamblers as GodsTips destroys the sportsbooks like a crocodile needlefish. Here is what GodsTips told you before the game. Wise Guy plays are your maximum play. Majors are .75 of Wise Guy plays. We always urge line shopping to compliment the sharpest plays in the world and release plays as early as possible to ensure more success. Often our plays are released before most sportsbooks have line...

Maryland turnovers trhe story -- again

Chris Turner now has thrown three picks and fumbled once.

Trailing 13-10, Rutgers took the lead when Turner was sacked and fumbled in the end zone.

Turner was hit by safety Joe Lefeged, who who swept the ball from the quarterback’s hands. Defensive end George Johnson recovered it to put the Scarlet Knights ahead 17-13 with 2:59 left in the third quarter.

Turnovers are the only way Rutgers wins this game. Rutgers now has two defensive touchdowns.

*You think Rutgers detected in its scouting that the Terps struggle to contain running quarterbacks? The Scarlet Knights keep inserting running threat Jabu Lovelace into the game at quarterback tro pressure the defense.

*Injured safety Jamari McCollough (foot) dressed but isn't in the game. That means Kenny Tate could be in for a lot of plays today as McCollough's replacement. But Fridge hasn't used Tate as a punt returner so far in the game.

Uncertain which Rutgers QB will play

Rutgers quarterback Tom Savage, a true freshman, was knocked out of Saturday’s 23-15 victory over Florida International, lying motionless on the field after a hit.

Savage told the media he is fine, but Fridge says he isn’t sure which Rutgers quarterback will play Saturday against Maryland.

“We don’t know really who we’re going to be facing,” Friedgen said. He said the other quarterback, fifth-year player Jabu Lovelace “is kind of their wildcat guy, normally associated with running.”

Dummy's Guide to Tackling: Grab 'em Dreadlocks!

Some football players love displaying dreadlocks or long curls out from underneath their helmet. Some players claim it makes them tougher, some claim it teaches patience, while others do it to pay homage to their heritage. I claim it makes them easier to tackle, so grab 'em dreadlocks!

Rutgers' Jordan Brooks does his Rapunzel Impression! VIDEO!

One fashion trend the 2000s will be remembered for is dreadlocks. Think Lil Wayne. Think Ricky Williams. In the world of football, fans shirk at the painful idea of how long hair could become a liability. Luckily, Rutgers' RB Jordan Brooks showed us the painful reality?a 62 yard run that ends with a touchdown prevented mostly by his flowing locks.

Inside Rutgers practice: Rutgers WR depth; A confident Mike Teel; Schiano's new Mantra

A new blog from North Jersey Media Group's Adita Kinkhabwala has been providing in depth coverage of Rutgers this summer. Today, she likens WR Kenny Britt to T.O. without the attitude, but unfortunately with the drops. I suppose there are worse people to have at WR than a TO.

Hopefully Mike Teel's new confidence can put the ball in places where even I wouldn't drop it. And the drops won't lead Teel to grumble off the field like the Manning that isn't Peyton. It was a dropped pass by James Townswend in the 3OT game against WV that cost Rutgers the BCS.

Schiano has been preaching the "fine line between winning and losing" this summer. He has been going as far as cutting water breaks for everyone because one guy doesn't run ALL the way to the water jug. Classic move right there. Hearing that the team looked good is great and all, but hearing that Schiano is still kicking their asses for little stuff like that makes me even more excited for what is to come in the coming years for this program.

Most of Schiano's six-figure coaching assistants got double-digit raises even as the university reeled under state budget cuts that forced the elimination of 825 jobs...Salaries for nine coaches now range between $115,000 and $185,000, according to the contracts obtained by The Record under the state's Open Public Records Act. Each also gets a $7,200 annual car stipend and an additional one month's pay -- a bonus for getting the Scarlet Knights into the Texas Bowl."

Ignoring all the BCS controversy that is sure to take place, congratulations to Rutgers. It wasn't more than a few years ago that this team was one of the laughing stocks of college football. Now they've turned it around, and last night managed a 28-25 victory over Louisville, the #3 ranked team in the nation. This puts Rutgers atop the Big East, and one of four undefeated teams left in college football."
