Ex-West Virginia coach claims he was "coerced" into signing with Michigan

Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez, in efforts to appear like a good guy that didn't leave West Virginia for more money, has finally gone too far. Rodriguez recently came out and said he was "coerced" (in other words, threatened or forced) to sign a multi-million dollar contract with Michigan. He didn't explain the specifics of what "coerced" means, but I'm guessing it's somewhere along the lines of "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." Give it up Rich-Rod.

Lloyd Carr (skank), retired Michigan Coach and everyone's favorite loudmouth loser-next door, is back, his famously sardonic wit intact and sharper than ever, as he continues to narrate his own story about cheating, man love and the Notre Dame obessessed men in Ann Arbor.

West Virginia RB Noel Devine arrested

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia running back Noel Devine was among four Mountaineers' football players to plead no contest to misdemeanor battery charges after being arrested Thursday.

Police said the charges stemmed from an altercation outside Club Z in Morgantown on Feb. 16 but did not provide details.

"Discipline with the situation has already been handled within the program," WVU football coach Bill Stewart said through a spokesman. He said he would have no further comment.

As SEC Football Blogger explains:

West Virginia Hates Rich Rodriguez. Yes, the whole state. You can not blame them. Their hearts were broken.

All the reasons for his departure are unknown, but it looks like money was the #1 reason. This next video depicts the situation perfectly.

Better hire: Bill Stewart or 12-year-old boy?

A 12 year-old Connecticut boy threw his name in the ring for the head coaching position at West Virginia. The funny thing is West Virginia fans might think this kid is a comparable option to the guy they hired, Bill Stewart.

Calvin Magee Confuses a White Guy

I'm white, old, and confused. I see Calvin Magee is in the news again. For those of you who do not know Calvin Magee is the assistant head football coach for the University of Michigan. Prior to accepting the position at Michigan, Magee coached for seven years at West Virginia. At West Virginia Magee was the running backs coach, then offensive coordinator, and last year was the assistant head coach.....

Lions, Irish and Zips, Oh My!

Syracuse released their 2008 football schedule today and among the big names making the trip to Central New York this year are the Penn State Nitanny Lions and the Akron Zips. I'll be happy just splitting those games because later on down the road, the brain trust at SU decided it would be a good idea to visit Notre Dame. I know they sucked last year, but so did we. Should be quite the ratings spike for NBC.

Here is the complete run-down:

August 30 at Northwestern
September 6 AKRON
September 13 PENN STATE
September 20 NORTHEASTERN
September 27 PITTSBURGH
October 4 Open
October 11 at West Virginia
October 18 at South Florida
October 25 Open
November 1 LOUISVILLE
November 8 at Rutgers
November 15 CONNECTICUT
November 22 at Notre Dame 2:30 p.m. NBC
November 29 at Cincinnati

With 12 games, I suppose we have a chance at becoming bowl eligible, but other than Akron and Northeastern, I'm not sure where we'll find those wins. At least opening day is on my birthday. Let's go Orange!

Slaton Angry about position in draft

Why is he angry. I am more angry he left WVU because he could not be a first round to third round pick. He made a dumb move with turning in his papers. Who gave him advice to go pro Coach Rodriguez. Oh.. here we go again. Slaton won't even be a first day pick and can not go back to WVU now. Even if he did Devine will most likely split time in the backfield. Even with less carries he would get more yards than the past season.

NFL Draft Analysis: The RBs

Last year's crop of running backs contained only two truly elite prospects, Adrian 'Rookie of the Year' Peterson and Marshawn 'It don't get no better than solid' Lynch. This year's class is much, much deeper, with most of the top prospects juniors.

So, start day-dreaming about a few of these top-notch tailbacks dropping below the first couple of rounds, because it's going to happen.
