In a doubleheader in Boston against the Red Sox, the young rookie did not provide much offensive help. In the first game at Fenway, Wil Myers went 0-4 with one strikeout. In Game 2, he went 1-3 with a single. In his first two games at Durham, he went 3-8. A jump from the minors to the majors is not a simple transition for many ball players. However, many were expecting Myers to be a difference maker right away. He will come around but just like others, he needs time. And Tuesday provided just his first seven at-bats in the big leagues. Alex Cobb got the start for the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night against the Boston Red Sox, and promptly allowed six runs on seven hits and a walk in the first inning.
