Robert Brewster update

Robert Brewster's rookie season has been washed out because of a torn pectoral muscle suffered in the off-season conditioning program, but he remains on the physically unable to perform list.

After Sunday's game the Cowboys could activate him off PUP and start a three-week window in which he could practice with the club and possibly return to the lineup. It's not going to happen.

Brewster said he will be able to start lifting weights for his upper body in two weeks and he was ta...

Almost 33, Former Marine Brandon Crawford Ready for Final Charge

by Jim HenryFiled under: Ball State, MACBrandon Crawford doesn't have any special plans for his 33rd birthday. It falls on a Sunday, an off day. He'll attend church, have a nice dinner, and probably listen to some music before he calls it an early night. Work cranks again on Monday. And Crawford needs to be rested and refreshed for Ball State football practice. Crawford, who likes to say he has taken a different path to get where he's going, is a senior defensive end for the Cardi...

Cowboys Rookie Tackle Robert Brewster Injured

Bad news for rookie tackle Robert Bewster. From Mickey Spags:

Third-round draft choice Robert Brewster has suffered a torn pectoral muscle while lifting weights in the post-minicamp training program, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed, and the subsequent surgery to repair the injury leaves him unavailable for the start of training camp. The Cowboys are unsure if the offensive lineman from Ball State can return in time to become active for the 2009 season.

Right tackle Robert Brewster's rookie season has ended before it could really begin.

Brewster, a third-round pick, had surgery earlier this month to repair a torn pectoral muscle suffered in off-season workouts after the June mini-camp.

"I can't even tell you how disappointed he is," Brewster's agent, Cliff Brady said. "The only thing that might be OK about it is that O-lineman generally don't play a lot that first yerar anyway. If he can be around and learn, ...

50 Best of the Non-BCS: Number 29

# 29: FS Sean Baker, Ball State

The Verdict: A redshirt freshmen for the Cardinals a season ago, Baker teamed up last season with veteran Ball State strong safety Alex Knipp to give coach Hoke’s defense arguably the best starting safety tandem in any of the non-BCS conferences. The ball-hawking Cardinal defense led the MAC in interceptions [...]

Buffalo shocks No. 12 Ball State, ends Cardinals perfect season

It's amazing how just one play can turn the tide of an entire football game. Take a play in unranked Buffalo's stunning 42-24 upset of No. 12 Ball State in the MAC Championship Game on Friday night.

Up 17-14 and driving for more points following a Bulls' fumble, Cardinals' RB MiQuale Lewis took a handoff from Buffalo's 8-yard line and rushed straight to the pile on at the goal line.
