Isnt It Annoying.....Eagles Website

isnt it annoying how the eagles website is so psychotically optimistic about eveyone? i was reading all the articles (spadaro) they have and specially the practice blogs, and they make everyone out to be superstars. even guys who are going to be cut. they give a false sense of hope. every year at this time its the same old thing. if someone who had no clue who anybody was on the eagles would read things on this site theyd think we were some ustoppable force. its just psychoitc how positive they are about EVERYONE. i mean come on, i remember last couple years spadaro saying how great this team is and pointing out evey single player like they were superstars and look what happened when reality set in, we didnt have any superstar seasons. it would be great if what they said was true.....but all it does is make fans overly excited with their expectations. id much rather have a straight shooter tell me how things are REALLY goin on. just gets on my nerves especially that puppet spadaro.....but anyway hopefully we'll win the super bowl this year.....and if you talk to anybody on the eagles website i think we might have already won it. GO EAGLES!!!!!!!

McNabb & Eagles Window Open ... 1/2 Open or 1/2 Closed?

So the question is, are you an optimist or a pessismist? A lover or a hater? Is McNabb your hero or your zero?
As Eagles fans have watched over the last 8 seasons, the window for our Super Bowl has been quickly opened, left open, closed, opened up again, closed, and so on... Some say we are at a crossroads with our star QB, others feel we have crossed the road a few years back & are ready to move on.

Eagles Training Camp 7/26/2008

6:00 AM Alarm goes off and time to get ready for the official beginning of football season; My trip to Lehigh Valley for Eagles Training Camp. The hour and a half ride there seemed effortless as we talked football the entire ride. We walked into find great seats at exactly 8:15 at the start of the day. We were on the offensive side of the field where Donovan, Westbrook, and Curtis were the whole day.....

The Philadelphia Media - Stop The Negativity

It could just me be, but I doubt it. Are certain Philadelphia media outlets becoming increasingly too negative in their reporting?

I am speaking mainly of the Daily News / Inquirer and also 610 WIP. I understand that writing or reporting requires a nice mix of the facts and opinion. The opinion aspect gives the story a unique flavor, grabs the attention of the reader.

Maybe I have been ignorant in the past and just missed the negativity. But recent coverage of the Phillies and Eagles has a constant negative theme running through most stories.

Articles tend to focus only on the negative of the Eagles. Articles are bashing players, focusing on the negatives of the team, how the team has zero shot to make a serious championship run.

I am not saying that the newspapers need to go all "Dave Spadaro" on us. Too much positive can also be a turn off. But a nice mixture between positive and negative would be nice. It is possible to critique a team or player without slamming the issue with negative garbage.

People say that the fans are losing their buzz about the Eagles. Gee, I wonder why?

And there is no one who is a bigger buzz killer than 610. It has come to the point that I can no longer listen to the morning show or late afternoon show...........

How will YOUR team do in 2008? Ask MADDEN! (09)

CHECK OUT HOW YOUR TEAM DOES IN THE REGULAR SEASON AND THE PLAYOFFS THIS COMING YEAR. THE PEOPLE AT IGN SIMULATED THIS SEASON, SEE HOW YOUR TEAM DID. CHECK OUT THE LINK.

NFC North

It would be the Chicago Bears who saw their team laid to waste by the injury to their star wide receiver. A Bears team that was unable to move the ball ended up a woeful, NFL-worst 1-15 on the year. It would not be the only surprise of the year. The Vikings claimed the NFC North by virtue of a 10-6 record, with the Packers retreating to 8-8 following Brett Favre's retirement. The Lions actually won seven games, meaning that whenever Jon Kitna predicts that the team will win ten games, they'll actually win seven.

NFC South

It came down to a tiebreaker, but the Buccaneers used a Pro Bowl season from Jeff Garcia to claim their second straight NFC South crown with a 10-6 record. Joey Galloway was named to the All-Pro team by virtue of a league-leading 107 receptions for 1438 yards and 10 touchdowns. They narrowly beat out the Saints, who claimed one of the two Wild Card spots. The Panthers continued to be mired in mediocrity at 8-8, while the Falcons didn't start Matt Ryan for most of the year, but still went 7-9. Michael Turner finished second in the league in rushing with 1,408 yards.

NFC West

In a division that no one wanted to win, the Rams returned to the playoffs with merely an 8-8 record. The Seahawks, 49ers, and Cardinals all finished at 6-10, with the Cards struggling following injuries to both Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald, while the Seahawks lost four games by three points or less.

Asante Samuel injures hamstring

This wasn't the instant impact the Eagles hoped they were getting when they signed Asante Samuel to a 57 million dollar contract this past off-season. On the first morning of full-contract drills at training camp, Samuel limped off the field with a hamstring injury. It doesn't appear serious and he was able to walk it off, but hamstring injuries have a tendency to linger for a while. Let's hope he's a fast healer.

On the bright side of this situation, Lito Sheppard gets to run drills with the first team defense again! Don't get too comfortable on the left side, Lito, Asante should be back out there soon enough.

Trading Shawn Andrews - Bad Idea!!

So the latest rumor surrounding the Eagles had them exploring the option of trading Shawn Andrews. For who and to where is unknown. When Reid was asked if he expects to see Andrews in camp, he responded "I have no idea."

As we fans and it appears the Eagles too try to find out exactly what is keeping Andrews away from camp, here is once piece of advice: DO NOT TRADE HIM! The Eagles must get this issued resolved ASAP!

As we all know one of the main keys to the Eagles finding success in 2008 is keeping Donovan McNabb upright. To achieve this goal the Eagles need Andrews anchoring the offensive line. Yes Runyan and Thomas are good, but the only true star of the bunch is Andrews. Andrews is consistently rated as one of the top guards in the league. His multiple Pro Bowl appearances prove the ratings to be correct.

In 2007 with Andrews the offensive line still allowed 49 sacks (28th Ranked in the NFL). Kiss Donovan's health goodbye without Andrews. Everyone ready for Kolb? What are the Eagles going to replace Andrews with Max Jean-Gilles or Winston Justice? Please, they couldn't even beat out Todd Herremans......
