Billy Packer Made the Right Call!

Grey Blackwell, from the Raleigh (NC) News & Observer, is known for his hilarious animated cartoons. He's picked on UNC's Roy Williams, Duke's Mike Krzyzewski, and NC State's Chuck Amato.

His latest victim: Billy Packer. This video is hilarious!

Derrick Favors is considered the top basketball recruit for the Class of 2009 by a lot of analysts; is there any chance he will end up playing for Sidney Lowe and the Wolfpack?

Let's nix the ACC/Big Ten Challenge

Kevlar, anyone?

The matchups for the ACC/Big Ten challenge were announced on Tax Day this past week. North Carolina will travel to Motown on December 3, 2008, to play the Michigan State Spartans. Ah, there's nothing quite like Detroit in December. The snow. The decorative lights. The hail of bullets…

Vitale is a PTP'er, baby!

I just wanted to highlight some news all college hoops fans should be interested in: Dick Vitale was voted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. To me, this is an N.C.'er. Dickie V is one of those guys you either love or hate. Well, I love him. He's great for college basketball.

March Madness and Me

Finally. The madness has returned. And there's nobody happier in the world than me.

You see, I've been in love with the game of basketball since the age of two. The year was 1991 and my parents had just presented me with a Fisher-Price basketball hoop for my birthday. Seeing that I was just learning that my fingers weren't actually food and other now-hilarious childhood facts..

ACC Angst…

I live in Raleigh, North Carolina, which is generally a really great place to live — except when it comes to college sports. My house and office are about 5 miles from NC State University. Considering how shitty the Wolfpack generally is in pretty much every sport other than Tiddly-Winks, that isn't so bad. Widen the arc just a bit more, however, and things get decidedly more annoying. Dook (a/k/a Duke) is about 15 miles up the road, and Tarhead State (a/k/a UNC) is about 9 miles beyond that.

I live in the bowels of ACC Country…

The big difference between the Wolfpack last year 5-11 in the ACC and the Wolfpack this year 4-12 might not be as different (or as scary) as you think. The Pack is one unlikely run from being right back where they were a year ago...
