The Buckeyes played the worse first half of basketball they played this year in a game that was supposed to see the Buckeyes advance into the final four. Just think if the Ohio State Buckeyes could have made more foul shots. The team’s star Aaron Craft has to be one of the worse foul shooters in team history. When Craft goes to the line you just know he is going to miss. The Buckeyes only shot 31% from the field against Wichita. That isn’t exactly going to get them many wins either. The Ohio State Buckeyes should have been able to beat the Shocker’s. They were out ran. It looked like the Buckeyes lost their legs and weren’t able to keep up with this team that ran all over the court. The Buckeyes took too long to get going. It was though the Buckeyes didn’t want the ball in anyone’s hands but Craft’s. Craft who struggled throughout the game trying to make foul shots, didn’t seemed to be bothered by the fact he was off today. All teams look to win these games and enter the conference with momentum. The first game that should be mentioned is the Ohio State vs. Kansas game.  The 9th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes will play the 7th ranked Kansas Jayhawks at home this Saturday at 4 pm.  Both teams only have one loss this season.  Ohio State’s only loss comes from Duke and Kansas’s only loss was against Michigan State, their second game of the season.  Other than their two losses, neither team has played anyone else in the top 25 this season so it will be interesting to see how both teams handle the pressure of playing in a big game. This game will prepare Ohio State for the Big Ten conference play because most games in the conference will be very competitive. First, dealing with the pressure as the number one team in the nation, the Indiana Hoosiers had their first loss last night against Butler 88-86.  This just shows that Indiana can be beaten.  In college basketball anything can happen and recently, Butler has played very well in big game situations.  There previous tournament runs have proven that.  Indiana is still a very good basketball team and I expect them to bounce back and continue their success.  They are still a definite contender for the Big Ten Championship as well as the NCAA championship. Late in the first half, Ohio State trailed 23-22 before going on a 17-2 run capped by a buzzer beating 3-pointer by Lenzelle Smith Jr. to give the Buckeyes a 39-25 halftime lead.  Deshaun Thomas scored 13 of his 19 total points during the run. Aaron Craft added a career-high 20 points for the Buckeyes while teammate LaQuinton Ross finished with 10. Smith finished with 18 points for the Bucks. Ohio State will now prepare to travel to Uncasville, Connecticut to continue their play in the Basketball Hall Of Fame Tip-Off Tournament this weekend. They will face Rhode Island and either Seton Hall or Washington.
