A second Kansas basketball player has been given a chance to wipe his record clean of drunken-driving charges. The Lawrence prosecutor's office says 21-year-old Chase Buford must pay $802 in fees. He is not allowed to consume alcohol or drugs for one year and must undergo substance abuse treatment. The junior guard from San Antonio was pulled over early on July 11 in Lawrence. Authorities say he refused to submit to a breath test.

This probably isn't the way Bill Self hoped to finish the offseason. Things had been going so well. Cole Aldrich and Sherron Collins came back to Lawrence. Tyshawn Taylor was great for the USA U19 team, leading them to a gold medal as the top scorer on the team. (He's also Mike DeCourcy's No. 9 shooting guard for this season.) NCAA Champs Kansas say goodbye to Rush, Arthur

Juniors Brandon Rush and Darrell Arthur declared themselves eligible for the NBA Draft today, meaning Kansas will be losing four starters from the National Championship team if Mario Chalmers bolts for the NBA as well. Rush, who declared last year, has given up his eligibility regardless of signing with an agent or not because it is his second time declaring. Arthur has not signed an agent and thus could come back, but it looks unlikely that he will return to the Jayhawks. The two accomplished what they set out to do in their college careers, and I have no reason to believe this is a bad move by either of them. Good luck in the league guys!
