Dwight Howard adds Golden State, Atlanta to his destination list

via Press Telegram

The Dwightmare continues. The plot thickens. The Dwight train has two additional stopovers, as Dwight Howard has reportedly considered Golden State and Atlanta as possible destinations. Of course, these two teams have been pursuing him since last year, but it more than a long shot for them to be chosen. It seems that Dwight has re-evaluated, and is now considering his options. After a dismal season with the Lakers, it’s hard to blame him.

Dwight Howard to consider the Hawks and Warriors

Dwight Howard will consider signing with the Hawks and Warriors this offseason
Dwight Howard has added two more destinations to his free agent pool of teams he’d like to sign with. The Atlanta Hawks and Golden State Warriors according to Mark Medina are two more squads that could land the polarizing free agent center. It’s been said that Howard wants to go to a team where he would be the team’s best player and still have a chance to win a title.

Warriors’ Playoff Success Opens Door For Dwight Howard Signing in Free Agency

It was not too long ago that Dwight Howard turned down the thought of playing for the lowly Golden State Warriors. It was also not long ago that Howard received an elbow in the face from Warriors forward David Lee, and responding with “I will remember.”
Howard is now reportedly remembering the Warriors’ surprising surge through the first round of the Western Conference playoffs and taking the San Antonio Spurs to six games in the second round.
According to the Los Angeles Daily News’ Mark Medina, Howard is reportedly considering the Warriors in free agency this offseason, to go along with the Lakers, Hawks, Rockets and Mavericks.
It is a far cry from the NBA depths Golden State once found itself in, where no high-profile player wanted to test the historically inept franchise. Young and talented players with bright futures, an impressive playoff run and a state-of-the-art arena in the works certainly changes all of that.
The Warriors will likely be large players in free agency this o...

Landry Wants To Return To Warriors, Hasn't Decided Whether To Opt Out

Carl Landry wants to return to the Golden State Warriors, but doesn't know how he’s going to proceed regarding his player option worth $4 million for next season.
"The Warriors are home whether I opt in or out," Landry said. "Hopefully, I can spend the rest of my career here because this is a very special place. Everything here is what you want: the city, the fans, the front office, the coach, the teammates. You can’t ask for anything more."
Landry called it the hardest decision of his career.
"I mean, this is the best team I’ve ever played for on this level, especially as far as chemistry," Landry said. "And the scary thing is we’ve been together one year."

San Francisco mayor Ed Lee calls Stephen Curry ‘Steve Curry’ (Video)

The city of San Francisco celebrated the Golden State Warriors with “Golden State Warriors Day” on Tuesday, and they handed star player Stephen Curry a key to the city. The event was a nice tribute to the team after its successful season.
There was only one problem: mayor Ed Lee made a blunder when he misspoke and called Curry “Steve” instead of “Steph.”
“You know what they say: You give Steve Curry an inch, and he might take a Golden State a mile!” Lee said during his speech. “Just 25 years old, he has made it on Sports Illustrated. Cover. The first time a Warriors player has made that cover for his skill, for his talent, since 1980.”
Wearing a blue blazer and yellow tie to represent the team’s colors, Lee seemed in tune with the Warriors. Earlier in the rally, he recognized Curry for setting the record for most 3-pointers made in a season. He did butcher the name of rookie Festus Ezeli, but that’s a tough one. Lee got Curry’s name right both before and after the slip-up, so we won

Warriors fans killed in shooting

Two Golden State Warriors fans were killed in a shooting following Thursday night's playoff game in Oakland.

Two men, identified as residents of Contra Costa County, apparently were headed home from the game on Interstate 880 in a white 2010 Porsche Panamera when someone in a dark-colored SUV opened fire with a semi-automatic pistol, killing the driver, 30-year-old Christopher Beardon. The 28-year-old passenger, Terrance Marks, fled the car or was ejected as it struck the guardrail and veered into traffic, and he was struck and killed by another car. He also had been shot.

Police are seeking help from fans who attended the game and studying surveillance video from Oracle Arena in hopes of identifying possible suspects. The victims were outfitted in Warriors gear and had ticket stubs from the game, according to Oakland police spokeswoman Johnna Watson, who spoke to local news outlets.

Police do not believe it was a road rage incident based on the evidence, including the number of shots fired.

Warriors thank fans in stirring moment

The Golden State Warriors accomplished more than most expected in their second year under head coach Mark Jackson, but their unlikely playoff journey ended Thursday night in Oakland with a 94-82 loss to the San Antonio Spurs in Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals.

The plucky Warriors' effort wasn't lost on the home crowd, though. After the season-ending defeat, many fans at Oracle Arena stuck around to root their team off the floor. The gesture was so moving that the Golden State players, led by star guard Stephen Curry, returned to the court after retreating to the locker room to let them know they appreciated the support:

"We just want to thank you guys for your continued support all season," Curry told the crowd, most of which was dressed in yellow Warriors T-shirts. "You guys made Oracle Arena a great place to play. The energy, the passion you have for us is unmatched across the league, so we want to just thank you guys.

"Obviously, it didn't end the way we wante

Video: Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors say goodbye

The Golden State Warriors held on for as long as they could and it just was not enough.
As he has been prone to do throughout his entire career, Tony Parker shot down the Warriors’ dreams in flames with one deadly shot.
Parker’s backbreaking 3-pointer with 1:15 to play Thursday pushed the San Antonio Spurs into the Western Conference finals with a 94-82 victory.
The Spurs beat back the Warriors in six games to set up a war for the conference title with the Memphis Grizzlies.
San Antonio went into the locker room with a seven-point lead at halftime that they held on to with a tight fist.
Golden State, however, battled back within three when Jarrett Jack hit two free throws with 2:20 to play.
Kawhi Leonard responded with a 3-pointer for the Spurs with 2:01 left and Golden State was unable to answer when both Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry missed a 3-point attempt.
The Spurs wore down the shot clock down and Parker ended it by hitting a 3-point shot that demolished the Warriors hopes for a Game 7

Warriors players thank fans after elimination

One of the best things this season was to see Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors in the postseason. Yes, they were eliminated by the San Antonio Spurs Thursday night in Game 6, but this was a huge improvement for the young team. Of course, it was a delight to see a grief-stricken fanbase [...]The post Golden State Returns To Court; Steph Curry Thanks Fans (Video) appeared first on The NBA Mistress.

Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry wife Ayesha & mom Sonya are BAD!

I was once told that men marry women who resemble or carry a trait of their mothers. Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry’s mom, Sonya Curry, had her MILF status officiated in media while Steph was in college at Davidson. Meanwhile, Stephen’s wife Ayesha also had people scrambling to get an up-close look at Mrs. Stephen Curry when National cameras caught her during the playoffs.

Both ladies are beautiful.

Steph has been slowed down a bit in this series with an ankle injury. The Warriors are hoping to push this to a game seven in San Antonio.

Warriors new San Francisco arena?

The Golden State Warriors have what many consider to be the best fan base in the NBA, and it seems like the organization is ready to reward them with an arena worthy of that status. In a story via Mike Foss of USA Today Sports, the Warriors revealed the first conceptual designs for a new arena that is supposed to be ready for the 2017 season. The arena would be 728,ooo square feet, and will also include a practice facility and team offices. The seating capacity will be less at 17,500 down from Oracle Arena’s 19,596. The designs are really amazing, and if the Warriors keep playing their fast-paced, aesthetically pleasing brand of basketball, I’m moving to Golden State.

Stephen Curry Gets Into Verbal Altercation With Fan After Game (Video)

Following Tuesday’s Nuggets game 5 victory over the Warriors cameras caught Stephen Curry get into an altercation with a fan in the stands as he was heading to the lockerroom. It’s unclear what was said, but what is clear is that Curry was very upset. Why do fans feel the need to take things this far?

Steph Curry gets into it with Nuggets fan

YouTube Just because Steph Curry looks like he’s ten years old doesn’t mean you can push him around. A Nuggets fan apparently tried to pick a fight with Curry as the Warriors left the Pepsi Center floor after the Nuggets 107-100 win Tuesday. Curry, who finished 15 on 7 of 19 shooting, can be seen turning back and getting in the fans face at the 0:20 mark before the TNT camera cuts away. And of course, sticks and stones will break your bones, but names will only give Curry more vigor to go off in Game Six like he did in Game Four. The Warriors lead the series three games to two. Game Six is Thursday in Oakland.
