Dramz In The Warriors Front Office

This article makes me wonder how much longer Chris Mullin will be putting around the Oracle. Most noteably the following quote;

"Chris Mullin made it perfectly clear to both Mr. Cohan and myself that he didn't think this was a big deal at the beginning," Rowell said. "And we happen to think it's a very big deal. We happen to think that it's a big deal for our fans, it's a big deal for our season-ticket-holders, it's a big deal for our business partners, it's a big deal for the Warriors' organization."

this whole thing is reminding me too much of my favorite football team....:-(

Mike D'antoni was asked about his first impression of Eddy Curry - the first thing that came from his mouth was, "He looked big".
Sweet! There's a new sheriff in town, Knicks fans. This is gonna be interesting...

Thoughts on the Warriors 1st pre-season game

Let me just start off by saying YEAH YEAH YEAHHHHHH!!!! It's freaking basketball (pre) season!!!!!!!
I don't care if it's only pre-season I am just excited to get back to the arena & eat some nachos, drink some beer and watch some ball!

Now I'll tell ya what I'm NOT excited about. I am not excited about our options at the pg position. Both Watson and Williams played just like what they are BACK UPS! I feel like both of them could make a solid contribution off the bench, but I don't like either as a starter right now.

I love that even though there were so many roster changes this off season we are still playing at a high tempo. This is one of the reasons I love the Warriors.

I am also feeling very very good about Turiaf. He had 7 assists in 24 mins! On a side note - my friend met him last week and said he is so nice and he goes by the nickname Mac-a-ronny.

I hope that Belinelli can keep up his momentum from Summer league. He had 14 points.

Randolph is scary with all his turnovers.

Harrington's performance was spotty as it was last season. Although he is looking especially buffed and yummy. I've provided a photo for all my lady friends. You're welcome.

I am hoping that David Stern will introduce a new rule that completely negates any activity that happens in the 3rd quarter. I think the Warriors game plan includes a full turkey dinner at half time cause they are always looking SLLLOW out of the locker room!

There are so many unknowns going in to the season it is hard to take away a solid sense of how things will turn out. It will remain to be seen how the new meshes with the old.

BREAKING NEWS: Barry Zito is a douche

This is a link to a podcast from the Gary Radnich show - he had an interview with the $126 million dollar man yesterday. You will be dumbfounded at his ignorance to the world around him.
It sounds like he has been reading self help books instead of working on his 47mph fastball.

Some highlights from the interview -

- Zito was not aware of the stock market crash of yesterday

- When Radnich suggested that real pressure was being a single mom w/ 5 kids, Zito didn't think that was more pressure then his current situation.

- Zito repeated multiple times that he was just a "regular guy"

- Zito admitted that he didn't give a crap about anything but himself and his curve ball.

- Zito admitted to being in love with himself

- Radnich suggested a reason he might be under so much scrutiny; baseball fans are busting tails to afford to get to a game, Zito is raking in money and not performing. Zito suggests that anyone taking a shot at him should "get thier own life in order".

I used to think he got too much crap - but this has changed my mind.

My Introduction To Hockey....

On Friday I had the pleasure of attending my very first hockey game. Let me preface this by saying, I have never even watched a hockey game - so if you are looking for expert analysis this is not the article for you. But I did have some observations for other hockey newbies in the yard.

This is one of the most exciting games to watch in my opinion. The action is virtually non stop, I was so shocked to see that they sub out players while the game is still in action. They just jump right over the freakin wall?!

The other thing that I was facinated by were the fights. I know hockey fights are very common, but the sheer brutality of two men throwing thier gloves off and pounding the sh!t out of eachothers faces was pretty exciting to me. I think what shocked me the most about it was how they are not emotional about it like you see in other sports. They duke it out like the old fashioned way, then they sit in the box for 2 minutes and come back to play hockey, busted lip, black eye and all!

I am definetly going to be checking out more hockey once the regular season starts. Next time I will be more prepared with knowledge of the game so I can understand it a little better.

Warriors Miss The Mark On Biedrins Bobblehead

The Warriors are offering an Andris Biedrins bobblehead doll to people who purchase the opening night 4 pack of tickets.
In my opinion, they really squandered the opportunity to make a great bobblehead.

Not only did they mess up his hair. They did not capture the color or the crunchy gelled texture correctly. (the hair wouldn't show up in the photo so click the link if you are curious), They also made one of the longest & skinniest guys on the planet earth look fat and stubby.

His chiseled features look puffy and bloated.

After the life-like bobblehead they made of sjax - I was expecting much much more.

For You, TC

A few weeks ago leading up to the Raiders/Broncos game, I bet TC that if the Raiders won he would have to post a photo wearing Raiders gear, and vice versa. So, as a result of the beating the Bronco's administered to the Raiders last week, here you go. Couldn't scare up any Bronco's gear - this is the best I could do.
And the Bronco's are great.

Redemption!

McFadden scores his 1st Raiders touchdown and - true to form - he doesn't even take full credit.

From the article;
"McFadden scored his first NFL touchdown on a 19-yard run around right end on a third-and-four play. McFadden credited Fargas with softening up the Chiefs defense, thus helping him shine."

Did I mention that I love this guy? #1 in rushing yards - his 2nd game in the NFL - AND humble?!

Everything is not all good in the Raider nation this morning though. Fargas is out with his groin injury. Doesn't sound too serious - but anyone that has ever injured thier groin will tell you that it is not something that goes away quietly. They tend to linger.

And we'll save the whole Lane Kiffin/Al Davis/Rob Ryan love triangle for another article. For now I am just enjoying the victory!

A Commitment To Dissapointing Me: a fan's rant

An absolutely heartbreaking performance turned in by my Raiders yesterday.
I am so disgusted I don't even know what to say.

With all due respect to Al Davis - the man revolutionized the game. He has the desire to win - the willingness to spend money on talent. But WHY WHY WHHHHHHYYYYY can't he put it together?!

DeAngelo Hall, what the hell? Lane Kiffin, what the f***? You can't stop the run, you make Jay Cutler look like Joe Montana in his prime.

The sad part is that Russell doesn't look too bad, but with the o-line looking like they couldn't hold off your local peewee football team he doesn't even get a chance to get rid of the damn football.
Fargas was also looking good - but he can not do it by himself!

I have been a Raiders fan my entire life and I will continue to stand by the Raiders.
Now do me a favor guys and GET IT TOGETHER!!!! This ain't cutting it!!!

Does It Matter How Ellis Hurt His Ankle?

The Warriors issued a statement on Sunday denying rumors that they were investigating Monta Ellis' ankle injury.
I know it is common practice to prohibit players from dangerous activity. Of course we wouldn't want the guy we just dropped $66 mil on skateboarding or base jumping. But my question is - if he was doing something foolish - what does it matter now?
Are you gonna suspend the player we most sorely need? After he comes back from a very ill-timed injury - are you going to tear up his contract and pin all your hopes on CJ Watson?
If you were Mullin would you try to make an example of him?
