So, Vegas was great. The fight was unbelievable, and I had a great time with my friends. Since I've been home I've just been working out and relaxing. Today I heard about a documentary on "Lil Wayne"(my favorite artist, and bascially the only thing I listen to) called Carter, so naturally I had to get it. I downloaded it off of iTunes today and I do have to say, it was awesome! It was very very interesting/eye opening video. I think the guy is as talented as it gets in my opinion. It's crazy to me that he doesn't write anything down!! That in itself is amazing in my opinion. well, not much else to say other than if you are a fan of Lil Wayne you should definitely check out this documentary. Later Yall!

Happy Halloween Everybody!! I hope all is well. I know it's been a while since I've Barked last, but now that the offseason is here I will be Barking a lot more frequently. So far this offseason I've moved back to my hometown in Texas and have been just trying to relax a bit. I've spent a lot of time with my friends golfing, watching the playoffs, and just kinda hangin out. You guys probably have a lot of questions maybe about the offseason or anything I haven't been able to get to early, so feel free to ask and I will answer to the best of my ability. Hey guys, hope everyone had a great weekend. Well, we had a bad series this weekend against the Royals. really not much else to say about that one. Luckily the other teams in our division have had some timely losses as of late, so we are still right in the middle of the race. We'll be back at it tomorrow against the Braves with a chance to gain some ground...We have to keep up the good start to the season....I feel like as the weather gets warmer so will the Reds. I hope you guys have been casting your All Star votes...We have a few guys on our team that deserve the chance to play in St. Louis this July....As for me haha, I haven't been as successful as I've expected to be this season, but I'm learning, and I'll be fine! So, my Cavs got knocked out of the playoffs...The Lakers pulled it out. Congrats to them. that wasnt easy to watch...but how about those MVPuppet commericials with LeBron and Kobe. I've loved watching those, they are awesome. Well I've gotta go enjoy some of my off day....talk to you guys again soon, Later.

haha, let me start by saying one thing. DONT BELIEVE EVRYTHING YOU READ!!!!!!! If I drive a Bentley, I sure didn't know it. With that being said, all those cars were obviously nice, but I'm not quite on that level yet. Sadly enough, I don't have too much interaction with Mr. Redlegs, yet anyway. hopefully he's not planning anything. Maybe I need to have a talk with him setting the ground rules just to let him know I mean business. Haha, talk to you guys soon!

Hank Williams Jr.'s Home Is My Locker

Hank's home will be my locker as long as I'm in Cinci! I am a little young to remember any of the Hank Williams jr. songs, but I'll be a fan for life now because of that talking doll haha. Maybe one day everyone can see a picture or something. Ill have to ask Hank if he minds though.

What's up guys? sorry I've been MIA from the site. The start of a new season can be kind of hectic. Time has been flying though, which is a good thing. I'm sure it has something to do with us getting off to a really good start. It's been a blast so far this season because we've been having fun, which I think has a lot to do with winning. So, you heard it here first, watch out for the reds this year, because I think we are going to surprise some people! How about the NBA playoffs? Obviously the Cavs are doin their thing, and will continue to do their thing by taking it all home, but as far as the other series that are going on, there have been some interesting ones. Bulls-Celtics was fun to watch. The Bulls made it a lot more interesting than I thought they would. Also, the Lakers better wake up for game 7 or there might be a huge upset! I do have to say I'd like to see the Rockets steal it from them just because I live in Houston haha, but taking everything into consideration, everyone needs to see a Cavs-Lakers championship series. That way, Lebron can continue to prove to people that before long, he'll be the best player in the NBA. I still have to give the edge to Kobe at this point, but Lebron isn't far off. So, I hope you guys enjoy this, and I also want to thank everyone for all the support and for being fans of the reds and myself. I'm going to start being more active on the site, so stay tuned!

My First Taste

What's up guys? So, yall probably forgot I was even on this site haha, sorry about that. My first taste of the Major Leagues has been everything I imagined plus more. Its the best of the best, and there is no other place to be. Before I got here, I never really understood why or how it was so hard for players to get sent down from AAA once they have been in the big leagues for a while. All I knew was AAA, and that's the best of the minors. The things that change in the big leagues aren't so much the game (I actually think its very similar to AAA, just everything being a little sharper), but its the little things such as better travel, better fields, better hotels that make it so much different. Everything is more conducive to the player being successful here. I'm having a blast, and when we start winning like we can, it's going to be even more fun. Later guys

Importance of agents

What's up everyone? Sorry I haven't been writing too often lately but I've been busy with traveling and getting down to Florida. Today, being that spring training is about to start I'm going to write a little about the importance of my agent, Matt Sosnick. Having a reliable agent means everything when it comes to taking the pressure off of yourself and just making life much easier for you during both the season and the offseason. I can call Matt about anything imaginable and he will help me out with it. A few months before the draft back in 2005, I was with the Boras agency. All that I had heard about them was great things, and seeing some of the players they had was an attraction from the start. After a while things weren't working out too well between us, for no other reason than the difference in opinions we had about certain things. The Boras corporation is great for certain people, just not for me. When I switched over to Sosnick Cobbe, I saw the immediate differences I was looking for in an agent. They treat everyone in the company like family, and they are there for anything I need. I feel very strongly about this agency and its presence in the baseball world for many years to come. You guys should check out the website and learn a little more about the agency and the players that are represented.

Reds Caravan

Well, I just got back from the reds caravan and wow. It really made me realize the fan base of the surrounding states, not just Ohio. It was a really cool experience for me because I got to see all those people get so excited about the upcoming season, and I also got to know freel and dusty a lot better...I seriously enjoyed every minute of it. The people at the radio stations and malls that we stopped in at were so nice, and it made me remember how fortunate I am to be playing a game as my job. So hopefully if you had a chance to come......It was everything you imagined it to be....and we all hope to see a packed house come opening day.(with me in center field...hopefully haha.)

What's up guys? Sorry I've been away for so long. I did some traveling during the holidays, and also went to the rookie career development program in Washington D.C. I hope I didn't lose everyone haha. If yall have never heard of the rookie career development program, its a program where 3 players from each team who have a chance to make it to the major leagues sometime during this year go to learn more about dealing with the media, managing finances, and staying out of different sticky situations that some rookies find themselves in from time to time. I found it very beneficial, and hopefully will have to put some of the knowledge to work sooner than later this year haha. Another cool thing that we did in D.C. was go to the whitehouse, and the capitol building. All in all, it was a great trip. I had a lot of fun. The next trip I'll be going is spring training, and I hope yall are as excited as I am. I'm ready to get down to Florida and get the ball rolling. This year should be interesting, for both the reds and baseball. The MLB is in a tough situation right now, and I just hope they figure it out and get it resolved so everyone can just get the focus back on the game. How do you all feel about it? I'd like to hear some views from fans. Let me know what's up. Later guys

So I'm sure everyone on here has heard about Josh Hamilton getting traded to the Texas Rangers, and next the question around the baseball world arises: WIll Jay Bruce start in Cinci? Well I'm here to say nothing changes from this trade. No matter what, nothing in this world is given to anyone. Sure, I'm excited it happened, its one less outfielder. I will miss playing with Josh(we played in Louisville together when he was rehabbing), because I can honestly say he is one of the most talented players that I've ever stepped on the field with. What he has done is truly amazing, and I wish him the best. As for me, I'm going to do everything I can to earn the starting spot in spring training, and there will be about 4 other outfielders trying to do the same. The bottom line is whoever performs, plays. With this trade, my attitude doesn't change at all. I'm going to spring training to make the team, just like before. Until next time......Jay
