Joe Dumars Losing It - Signs Kwame Brown For $4 Mil

Remember when Joe D said there was going to be some major changes in D-Town? Well, I guess it means throwing $8 mil in the toilet over two years for Kwame Brown. Sure, he's one of the worst #1 picks ever (Kandiman's still worse), but he is a young big who can play decent position D. BUUTTT, there's no room for him on the Pistons, even if they trade Sheed. Amir Johnson's needs to try and earn his contract, and Maxiell needs to run wild.
Plus, $4 million is probably twice what cake-boy was fetching in the open market. Geez, Joe D needs to make some major move - I'm talking T-Mac major - to make up for this inactivity this summer.

Oh, you can check out more thoughts here: http://www.ingamenow.com/teams/4/1/NBA
Sort of a Twitter for sports.

Own a basketball team

While me and my buddy Chris are still planning to purchase an NBA team - I'm thinking the Hawks - the finances aren't quite there yet. But for us middle class chumps with mad hoops-ownership dreams, ownmyteam.com gives us a chance to own part of a team for $70.

Of course, the team will be an IBL team, and it's a monthly fee, and you don't get any return on your investment, but it's still kinda cool to say you'll own a part of a team. You can vote on team issues including hiring coaches, team colors and whatnot - which could be a logistical nightmare.

Screw it, I jumped in. I understand it's a bit of a cash grab, but I need to get some experience running a squad before I get to the NBA, right? Besides, now I can put "Professional Basketball Team Owner" on my resume.

Warriors Get Marcus Williams - Unstoppable Baby

Warriors trade for the 6-3 big, ball handling, offense running, laptop stealing Marcus Williams for a conditional draft pick . Great move, still wish there was no Maggette gumming up the works

Maggette a Warrior - Mullin an idiot

Looks like the shock of losing Baron Davis has caused old Mully to go batshit crazy and sign Corey Maggette for 5 years and $50+ million. Maggette had a good year, averaging 22.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists last season, but what are you doing Mully!? He plays the same position as Stephen Jackson, isn't that much better than him, is a ball hog, has never won, and is injury prone.

Potential Starting Lineup:
Ellis, Maggette, Jackson, Harrington/Wright, Biendris.

Yeah, he'll fit in the run and gun offense, but do any of you think this squad will be better than last year's? I know the Warriors aren't done, but by giving Maggette this much it'll tie the team's hands in the future once they've re-signed Monta (nickname?) and Biendris.

Where do you rank KG all time now?

Now that he's got a chip, and is certified, where does the big ticket rank all-time as a PF. I think Duncan's clearly the greatest of all time (don't give me that 'he's a center' crap), but I think you may have to slide KG into that second spot ahead of the Mailman and Footies Barkley. What do you think?

Ariz. police brace for Shaq attack

Looks like the Big Cactus/Law Officer will be a volunteer for the Tempe, Ariz. department. You may remember he was a volunteer for an LA department, and in Florida was licensed to carry a firearm.

Supposedly, volunteers are responsible for translating and handing out fliers.

I've always liked that Shaq wants to be a cop. I think it would be hilarious if he pushed for the undercover department.

Who are the best point-post combo in the league

Lysol says it's :
1. Parker-Duncan
2. Deron-Boozer
3. Nash-Stoudemire
4. Paul-West
5. Billups-Wallace
I agree for the most part, but I think you have to throw Kidd and Dirk in there.
What do you think?

Cuban bans bloggers from Mavs locker room

Truehoop does a fantastic writeup of the issue.
It's a silly move by Cuban in my opinion, as blogs can be serious journalistic tools.
Also, the day Harvey Bars can't go in to the Mavs locker room and ask Kidd about his right hook is the day I stop watching hoops.

Spurs getting Kurt Thomas?

Looks like the Spurs have acquired perpetually-scowling Kurt Thomas for Francisco Elson and Brent Barry - both with expiring contracts.

Good move for the Spurs. Elson and Barry weren't giving them much, but Thomas will be a decent big to play behind and along side Tim Duncan.

As for the Sonics, the only reasons I can think of doing this move is to be nice to Thomas. Thomas' $8 mil or so contract was already expiring, and Barry and Elson won't be parts of a rebuilding process in Seattle/OK city. Maybe a draft pick will be involved? Maybe he wasn't a good influence on the youngsters (telling Kevin Durant to try rebound - how dare he)?

It's nice they're sending him to a contender and all, but don't you have a responsibility to try and make your team better?

Female high-school dunker could be Joakim Noah

So, Britney's 6'8 and can throw it down. She also has ridiculously long arms - she makes Luol Deng and Elton Brand look like TRex's.

Umm, not to be mean or anything, but she looks and sounds like a man. When I first saw her dunking videos on YouTube, I thought Joakim Noah was just having fun with us.
