Back to work

So, a season is totally ended for me and now starts the preparing for next year. I found out that maby I can't play the top leauge here next, they say that if you play on a team were players is paid you may not play college ball. And I really want to play college ball so I'm not totally sure what I should do, if anybody that cares to read my blogs, what do you think I should do? or do you know how the rules is? well, either way I really want to take my game to the next level this year, so I have started the summer work out all ready. I lift weights, runs, do jumping, agility , ballhandling and shooting. So I try to seriously be so much better this year. I started on monday and I was so exhausted! I just had to take a icebath to cool my body down for the other day. The days goes fast this time a year, so I will only take one week off this summer. I just have to take breaks when I feel my body is to tired, but if it aint, I will keep going, keep working, keep pushing all day. I am fortune to have a girlfriend that supports me a 100% and belive in me, and that makes the work easier. She know I have to spend a lot of hours on basketball and things, so I am going to live with her this summer, so coming home to her after these workouts is good. She makes me stronger and motivates me so I can't stop talk about how greatfull I am for having her. So now I will, do some bounding and jumping before I hit the gym. Love to everybody that supports me - I wont let you down, I'm coming, just give me some time:) niko

First time in history, Norway the Nordic champs

Hi again, this has been one crazy week. Me and the U18 national team had a cup against Iceland, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. And every year Norway have lost by 20-40 points against Sweden or Finland. But this time we felt pretty good after beating the elders.. So it started by meeting Sweden, and we had a great start with many players starting off hot and we won with 20 points!

After that it all went smooth, or team was on a roll and we won everygame by 10 or more.. we had one close game against finland when they was down by 14 when it was 3 minutes left and they went crazy, hitting 4 threes and we won with only two or something.. they were the team we won against in the Final game also! it is hard to explain what we have done, cause it has never happened before! So many people talk about how great it was but I can't really feel how important for or country this was. So now we are getting ready for the European Championship.

Personally I did not play my type of game, I had to play another role were I was coming in beeing agressive in defense and forcing the other team to turnovers. I scored offcourse, but not as much as I could if that was my role. So I guess I did a ok job but I feel I have to put in some extra work this summer..

Hope this was interesting for someone, but this was really great for or country, so I hope we just getting greater in the future from now on.

The National Team

This weekend I got together with my national team. We had two practices a day and both were around two hours. My team is U18.(18 and under) and we practiced with U20. One of my friends that plays on the U20 he was lucky and got to play for Nike Hoop Summit some weeks ago in Portland, he did alright with 8 points in 12 minutes:) His name is Torgrim Sommerfeld also from Norway. So I am really happy for him that he got the chance to show the world his skills.
The first days I did allright, but I am a little bit streaky sometimes, so sometimes I was hot and sometimes I was not as good as normal. So the national Team trainer said that I have to start on the bench every game so I can se what happens on the floor some minutes before I go out and do my thing.. It was a nice weekend and last day our U18 team had a little game against the U20 team. We actually won with 22 points! Their were pissed, cause we are the younger national team, so their trainer said they was not focused so he wanted a short match that lasted in 15 minutes. Even funnier, we won that by 7 points.. I had about 6-9 shooting, so I did ok that game, but most important, we won. So next weekend we are going to play a Nordic national team cup, agains Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Iceland. So this is a cup that will make us ready for the European championship cup this summer. After we won against U20 we are confident that we can have som upsets and suprise some teams in the closest future.

The Norway Championship for ballers at my age

Gamewinner, underdog to topdog, what an incredible weekend! (Not college ball)

We started of beeing seeded way low on the ranking. We were totally the underdogs here.

The first game we met the only team that was ranked under us, and we kicked there ass. Not really anything to talk about.

In our group it was three teams, we had to win two of them to get to the semi finals! So game two was against the last year silver medal team, we had a pretty good start coming into half time 55-57. Then I got really on fire and dropped 15 points in the third quarter together with a another on my team mate, he had 10. Going into the fourth quarter we were leading 85 - 76.

Then a player on the other team got really hot and he allmost gained the lead all by him self and with 20 seconds left their were up by two even after many clutch shot by me. Our other go to guy were fouled out, so they took the game in my hands. ... _The clock were ticking, 19--17..16.. and I had the ball on the top. I was considering to take the buzzer or shoot a little bit before so we had a second shot. So when the clock were at 7 seconds I exploded against the basket and got fouled, took a 180 degree shot and managed to get the shot of and BAAM! it went in! and the crowd and my team just got crazy. So the score was 97-97 and I had one freetrow with 5 seconds left. I was thinking I know I'm making it I know I know.. And swish! it burned trough the net and the game was over!
they other missed by the way.

We lost against the scandinavia best team in the last game of the group, but it didn't matter, we were in the semi finals!

The semi finals everybody thought we were about to get blown away! But me and my team were like crazy bulldogs the whole game and were screaming and working on every rebound, we made allmost every shot and threepointers and kick their ass and won with 17points! it was unbelivable! The underdogs had made it to the final fighting for the gold for all the best teams in Norway.

The final game I didn't play up to what I did the other games, I was to tired from the other games and was the totally different of being in the zone. We lost by 20,. But we did won the silver medal and that was a huge achivement for the team we had!

what a weekend..=)
