Free time in Toronto

Toronto is one of the better cities to have an off day. But, without a car, there are only so many things you can do. I might go hit up a mall or something. We face off against the Doc tomorrow. It's always a pleasure to see him to his thing. Hopefully we can muster a few runs and Andy can shut em down.
Not sure how many Adam Carolla fans are on the blog, but you should subscribe to his free podcast on itunes. It's pretty funny stuff. Later!

I know it's been a long time but I'm back! I was moved into the bullpen since my last post and the transition has gone well. Just happy to be contributing in any way I can. I hope to post much more frequently in the future and would just like to thank everyone out there for the continued support. Also, let me know what things you liked/disliked about the blog before. See ya soon.
Contest Winner!

First off I want to thank everyone for their participation. I think the first contest went really well. There were a total of 267 email entries. The winner of our first contest in Sandi. Way to go! You will be emailed with further instructions. There were only a handful of people who got all three questions right. The number i wore in high school was 45. My current glove size is 12.5?inches. And lastly my hat size is 7 3/4....yea, no joke. Again, thanks for everyone who submitted entries and congrats to the winner. Make sure to check back often as I will probably post another contest before I head back to Florida next week. Have a great weekend!

Happy Holidays

Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and happy holidays. I really enjoy being home around this time of year. Thanksgiving and Christmas are still a big deal in my parents house even though all the kids have moved out. My oldest sister Molly has two young daughters, Petra (9), and Stella (4). I'm not home very much throughout the course of the year so being able to see them is awesome.
I started working out at Athletes Performance last week. It's a tough workout but I'm doing everything possible to be prepared for next season. Staying healthy is my number one priority and I feel like if I can do that then I will have a successful season.
Also, what would one of my posts be without a music mention? If you've never heard of the band Skillet you should really have a listen. They're an awesome Christian group. If that's not your thing then you should check em out anyways. They play some great hard rock tunes. The song "Savior" is a good one. Talk to you guys soon!

Back Home

Hey how's everybody been? I'm finally back home after a pretty successful Arizona Fall League. It was a great opportunity to get my inning count up as well as meet some players from other organizations. It will be nice to get some time off and enjoy the holidays with my family which I always look forward to. Now that I have a bunch of free time to go through everything i've accumulated this season I will set some things aside to give away in contests. Let me know what you guys would like to see. But let's try and be realistic. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. See you soon!

Governor's Cup

Hey everyone. I must say that winning the International League Championship was a thrill and was a welcome positive on this otherwise negative season. It was nice to pitch well in the AAA playoffs and then get back to the big leagues and pitch pretty well for the short time I was able. Right now I'm just focused on carrying that over into the Arizona Fall League. I plan on coming into spring training with a positive attitude and in great shape.

To be a part of the team during the last game of Yankee Stadium was an honor. Seeing all those great players go out to their positions really put this game and my opportunity into perspective. Something I will definitely never forget. As my family told me afterwards I was caught on camera taking some dirt from the mound. It's in a little plastic bag and will be something I can keep forever. Pretty cool day.

Lastly, I just got the chance to watch the season premiere of The Office on iTunes. We were playing in Toronto on Thursday so I missed it. Dwight spraying bug spray into the vending machine after all the healthy food was rotting. Priceless! Take care everyone.

AAA Playoffs

A few of you may know we advanced past Pawtucket in the first round of the International League playoffs and will kick off the Championship round tonight against Durham. We have a great team and hopefully we can win this whole thing. A lot of great pitching match ups in each game. You should really check it out if you get a chance.

I'm also heading to the Arizona Fall League when the season is over to get some more innings in. I'm really excited to work on some things and get my innings count up for this year.

Lastly, The Office 1 hour season premiere, Sep. 25th. Can't Wait!

Feeling Good

Hey everyone. Sorry it's been a while since I've checked in. I've been feeling very good lately on the mound which has been encouraging. I'm hoping to build on that and make the most of what is left of this season. Also, my last two outings I've worn my Oakley prescription glasses and they have worked out well. So at least seeing the signs won't be an issue anymore, haha. There have been more than a few requests for pictures in the new specs. Not sure if there are any out there yet. I'll work on that.

I'm always open for new blog ideas so if you have any feel free to message me and or leave them as comments. As many of you know I'm really into music. So one thing I was thinking about doing was making mini playlists and sharing with everyone what I'll be listening to before each start. On that note, I'll leave you with what's about to play on my iTunes. Have a great night!

Here I Am- UB40

Inside the Fire- Disturbed

Far Behind- Candlebox
