Hey everyone!!!

Happy Friday!

HUGE game this weekend! Saturday, November 14th, the California Redwoods host their second home game of the season against the Las Vegas Locos. The two teams are battling it out to determine who will advance to the Championships! This is, by far, the BIGGEST game of the season! Should be an intense match-up. Tune in to HDNet at 6:00pm PST.

Next week, in the UFL’s final games of its regular season, the Redwoods host the Sentinels... stay tuned for details!

Hey all!!

Check out the Wyoming Vs. SDSU game Saturday! Both the Pokes and the Aztecs are 4-5 overall and 2-3 in conference play. With just 3 games remaining, they both need win at least two of their last 3 to become bowl eligible. It Should make for a very interesting Saturday in San Diego!!

I will be commentating the came, so tune in to the Mountain West Television Network this Saturday, November 14th at 8:00pm PST.

What’s up Yardbarkers? Hope you all had a safe Halloween!

I’m headed out to Vegas tonight. Tune in to the Mountain Network tomorrow night at 7:00pm PST for week 10 of NCAA Division I-A Football. I will be commentating on the UNLV/Colorado State game at UNLV tomorrow. Let me know what you think about the match-up!

FYI …Things are going great with the re-launch plans for my restaurant in San Diego! I’ll keep you all updated…it’s definitely going to change the Sports Bar game in San Diego… Stay tuned…

What up Yardbarkers?

What up Yardbarkers? As many of you know, the UFL season is well underway and I am coaching the California Redwoods. I am on my way to Florida to battle it out with the Florida Tuskers, but I’m not going to lie, I am a little nervous. Florida’s team is stacked, with 40 former NFL players on their roster. Last week, Florida's QB Brooks Bollinger went 26 for 36 with 310 passing yards in Florida's domination of the Las Vegas Locos. They are good, there is no question about that, but with Dennis and I coaching the Redwoods, I think we will be just fine! Jim Haslett and Dennis Green have faced off three times as NFL head coaches, so this will be interesting! Plus, we have running back Cory Ross who leads the UFL in rushing with 168 yards and recorded the first 100 plus-yard game in UFL history when he ran for 121 yards in California’s 24-7 win over New York. It is going to be a great game, so tune into Versus on October 22nd at 7pm EST!

I will also be commentating the UNLV vs UNM on the Mountain Network, so please make sure to tune in on Saturday at 6pm! As a side note, I am also re-launching my restaurant in San Diego and will have more details to come…but it will definitely be the sickest Sports Bar that Diego has ever seen!

Hey Everyone,

Sorry it has been awhile since I last blogged, but I have been so busy lately!

So as you may know, the UFL gets underway on October 8th. This is a very exciting time for me as I will be coaching the California Redwoods team along with the Vikings former head coach Dennis Green. I think that the UFL is going to serve as a great catalyst for talented players that want a chance to play in the NFL. The UFL’s mission is to “fulfill the unmet needs of football fans in major markets currently underserved by professional football by providing a high quality traditional football league comprised of world class professional football players. The UFL will serve the communities with pride, dedication and passion, and uphold a leadership role in the development of football worldwide.” I would love for everyone to check out www.ufl-football.com . As the defensive assistant coach, I will be able to bring my thirteen year NFL experience to many talented athletes that want to make it to the NFL.

ESPY's Week

Hey,

Back from an exciting week at the ESPY's. I had a great time catching up with friends and old teammates I haven't seen in awhile. The ESPY's for me is an awesome display of REAL talent. People at the top of their game in every sport in full effect. The award show is pro sports meets hollywood and its an explosive mix. At the pre party I had a chance to rap with reigning olympic gold medalists in the 400 and 400 meter hurdles LaShawn Merrit and Angelo Taylor respectively. These guys should be given more love by the masses. Me being a track and field junkie I recognized these guys as many didn't. How are you the best in the world in an international sport and not get love? Very sad. Other musings included a chill session with Evander Holyfield who at 46 told me that he still is going to fight! He talked about how he ran a 4:3 forty yard dash in his early days playing football. I gave him the old look like I do when people pull 4:3's out of their mouths like it's an easy feat. He was adamant about it so I believed him. I was drawn to him by his candor and down to earth personality. I wish him the best in his next fight.

Is it me or is the red carpet at the ESPY's always so bright and burning hot. The photographers are always positioned so you're looking directly in the sun too! Samuel Jackson rocked the house as usual with his quips on the stars in the audience. The show seemed a little long this year but all in all was an successful event after some problems with the teleprompter.

Post party was absolutely BANANAS! Where can you find Stevie Wonder and Doug E Fresh on the same stage giving a tribute to Micheal Jackson in an impromptu performance. I was also enjoying the sounds by my good friend Biz Markie. Major electricity in the building as we partied until 1am. Totally worn out I had to get out of those dress shoes I'd been wearing since 4pm! There were many more experiences and stories to add in future blogs to stay tuned...

I love what's going on with Brett Favre. Finally there is a guy with enough stature to be relevant when NFL teams normally throw older players out in the cold. He wanted to go to the Vikes before landing in NY with the Jets. The Pack said no to the trade. Now he has the ability if he wants to get there anyway, I LOVE IT! Normally players want flexibility to finish their careers on their terms only to get shipped elsewhere or decided to retire early because of circumstances.
