June 1st has come and gone

Ok fellow yard barking Eagles fans. Now that June 1st has past, what now? Now that "we're not getting Ocho Cinco, Roy William, or Quan" what now?
I know some of you kool aid drinkers have us going 14-2, 13-3, and 12-4. This post is geared to the people who are firmed grounded in reality. Our defense is going to be good, not great, but very good. But what about our offense? Is Curtis, Brown, Jackson, and a bunch of guys not named TO enough to correct our red zone issues? While I can see 5 and Reid doing some big things with this offense, I can also see alot of the same from last year. What happens when 5 throws to LJ at the 5 and still doesn't get in? What happens when a defense keys in on BWest inside the 10. Will LJ, Celeck, Curtis, and Brown be able to get in the end zone?
No question we will be able to move the ball from 20 to 20. Do we still need that big time weapon on offense? Chat it up yard, lets talk.

Dare I disrespect the Legend of Doyle Brunson

If you're a poker fan then I must warn you this post may be hard to swallow.
As I'm sitting here watching the WSOP replay for the 90th time. I watched as Doyle caught a bad break to get eliminated from the tourney. Doyle's AQ both paired the board while his opponent held pocket Q's and hit his trips on the board. One of the announcers mentioned that Doyle hasn't won a WSOP in 30 years.
Now I can understand that in the past 10 years or so, Holdem, particularly No Limit has steam rolled in popularity. So I won't hold that against him. However, what about the majesty of his name, his legend. The great Doyle was 0 - 20 and hasn't won a WSOP main event title since 1977. In which case he won both Main Event titles with 10 - 2 offsuit. One could make an arguement for luck.
Granted he has 11 WSOP bracelets, but only 2 main event titles.
I'm not trying to dis Doyle, just had a thought and wanted to put it out there to get some feedback.

Sixers Win!! Sixers Win!!

Wow, this team may be for real...What a pick up after that junk the NHL handed us last night after robbing the flyers. I know the series is not over by any means. But who would've thought the Sixers would ever be up in the series 2 -1? Also who would have thought they would've beat the Pistons by 20?
Now I'm hyped for tomorrow....

Philly Fans get no Love

Anyone see the end of the flyers game last night? And think to themselves today...How come I don't see the national media killing the Caps fans for throwing a beer bottle and a pizza box at two Flyers last night?
Are you kidding? How did this not get caught on ESPN? Had this been philly and that happened...
I'm so sick of them talking about Santa and the snowball...He deserved it. Jim Johnson and the snow ball, definitely deserved it.
Ok that stuff is a little over the top, I'll admit that. But what about Clev. and the 17000 beer bottles that were thrown on the field? What about LAST NIGHT? This stuff slips through the cracks, yet if we sneeze in the wrong direction, its all over sportscenter. You know what, ESPN? YOU SUCK!!
So what if I'm addicted to Sportcenter, or NFL Live and the Draft Coverage, or College Gameday, or Baseball tonight. You still suck!! How about a little objective coverage of things that go on in our sports world. Washington is not even a real hockey town, yet they get a free pass? I will boycott ESPN today between the hours of 10am and 7pm to show my discust. When I get from work, I may turn you on after the Sixers game.

I'm finished....

Interesting Debate sparked by CowboyJoe and his article. Is Emmitt Smith a top 5 RB of all time?

Sure he holds the record for total rushing yards, but he also holds the record for most rushing attempts. Which leads to believe his yards per carry is not that of a top 5 RB.
To be clear, this is not a debate as to which team is better. I'm an Eagles fan, but I'm a fan of the game and I cannot find it in my head to put Emmitt in the top 5.
Hear is my Top 5, Jim Brown - Barry Sanders - Walter Peyton - Marshall Faulk - OJ Simpson
I'm only 33 and only seen highlights of Jim Brown, and OJ, but they were beast. Five is interchangeable though I still can't put in Emmitt.
Honorable Mention for 5th spot - Eric Dickerson, Bo Jackson, Earl Campbell, Gale Sayers
Current players that still have to prove themselves, but I would still take on my team over Emmitt:
LT
B West
Adrian Peterson (still has alot to prove)
Larry Johnson
What do you think? Is Emmitt Top 5? With or without the record? There are a lot of what ifs that you can use. Like what if Barry never retired? He was only 1457 yards behind him and 3086 behind where Emmitt left it. And he had 1347 fewer carries, thats like 3 seasons worth of carries if he broke LJ's single season rushing att record of 416 3 straight years.
Emmits ypc avg: 4.16
Barry's ypc avg: 5.0
Walter's ypc avg: 4.35
Jim's ypc's 5.2
OJ's ypc 4.7
Marshall's ypc 4.3
See where I'm going with this?

So is the McNabb trade back on?

Now that Air McNair has retired, what is Baltimore to do at QB? Do they draft a QB that will be too young to lead an already aging team?
Or do they talk philly into giving up #5 for the #8 pick? I don't want to see 5 traded, I think he has enough left in the tank to get it done here.
well only time will tell...

Chad may be an Eagle as soon as NEXT WEEK!!

Man this dude really wants out. I don't see why or how Cinci would keep him. He really, really, wants out. I guess the next step is doing sit ups on the porch and the "next question" interview by Drew. I hope Cinci wise's up soon and gives Andy a call. Lito for Chad straight up. Maybe the birds throw in a late round pick. I know some of you goofs are going to say Lito for Chad straight up wouldn't happen because Chad has way more value. Well, he's taking that value and throwing it out the window with his antics. Everyone knows Cinci has no choice, so now they are about the same...

COME ON BIG RED, LEAN ON THEM... MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

Lets talk Eagles Draft Needs

Everyone has seen all the mock drafts concerning the Eagles. I want to gauge what positions are needed the most. With the 19th overall pick I think the birds should take a shot at that Phillips kid. We need someone to eventually replace Dawk. Next I target a WR. The draft is actually pretty deep at this position. I know alot of you really like the kid from Cal, but do we really need another 5'9" WR? I don't really care how fast he is. The GLew and Avant experiments failed. Enough!!
There are many that think the birds with trade some picks along with Lito for a true #1 WR. like Quan or Ocho. If that is a real possibility, then lets hope it happens.
I actually hope they take a OL with one of the picks. We need to restock the depth there. Please no more Justice. We swung and missed with him. He may be ok someday, but I think we know where his ceiling is.
$Money Round$ 3rd Round: This is where Big Red has made a living in the draft. Here is where we could steal a RB. I know alot of you homers will probably kill me for this. But Tony Hunt is not the answer. He will be okay at best. Not a game breaker. Maybe pick up a WR in the 4th. Whoever GB maybe eyeing, take him. They seem to have a skill for picking talent at the WR position.
I'd also like to see them go out and add some depth at LB in the middle rounds (5-6), purely backup guys that can be special teams warriors.
Positions I don't expect to see on draft day:
TE: Lets face it, LJ will be back. He's not the player he thinks he is and won't get paid like it. Celek is up and coming. We have plently of filler behind tose two.
QB: Well what can I say? We have 5 and Kolb is his back up (PERIOD)
DE: We addressed this for the most part in FA. The rest will be filled in with rotation. Actually I know a guy who is getting a look at this position. He's a hell of an athlete, I'd be really shocked if they didn't sign him.
CB: pretty stocked there. Maybe they sign a guy who can do both PR/KR as well as CB. I'd like to see that. Never made sense to me that a team signs a guy who plays offense and PR/KR. Makes more sense for it to be a defensive guy. Does his thing in KR/PR, then comes to the side line to get a blow, not go to the huddle and is already spent for the next play.
So that leaves FS, SS, MLB, OLB, DT, OT, OG, C, WR, and RB as areas I think the Eagles should address on draft day.
Do you agree? I'll probably get slammed for some of my views, but lets hear it...

Dear Chris Henry

Dear Chris,
I just wanted to thank you for being a total Jack *#_$(). Any chance we had of acquiring Ocho Cinco have now been squashed because you are an absolute idiot. Can you please explain to me how you can be such a stupid, selfish, sociopath? I just don't get it. Were you dropped on your head one too many times as a kid? Were those ugly braids too tight?
Now that Cinci is down to 0 wr's for mini camp I highly doubt 85 is going anywhere. I don't know if the birds had any chance of get him to begin with, but whatever chance that was is gone now.
Ocho should take that HOF jacket he had made and get the sleeves crossed and stitched to the back, get moron painted on the front and give it to you Mr Henry. I hope your NFL career is over and you end up bagging groceries at a local Acme. I want you to bag my wings and soda on gameday as I laugh in you face.
I'm so sick and tired of these incredibly stupid athletes that think they can do anything and get away with it. To quote Chappelle as Rick James "Should've never gave dem ($*#_@#'s money"
I'm embarrased for them and for my people. When you look at jerks like Henry, we should appreciate Big Red's philosophy with character guys even more. Because if Henry was an Eagles I would really be PO'd.

Is Roy Williams still available?

Read the article..I'm thinking with the Eagles signing another TE/FB that a trade is on the horizon. Whether or not its for Williams or Ocho, who knows. But why would Eagles sign a 4th TE? They say this guy can play some FB too, but you already have two people at that spot. We all know the FB isn't an important position in the Eagles offense. So no need to add depth there. I just don't get 4 TE's unless you're looking to move one...
Anyway, from this site to Joe Banners ears...
