Greg Oden: Happy Birthday "Little" Bro

Today is my younger brothers birthday, his name is Anthony Oden. He plays football for The University of Arkansas. His number is 78 and he plays on the offensive line, he turned 20 today. Ive seen a couple of his games on tv and i also went to the Arkansas vs Georgia game which was a high scoring game. I just wanted to drop a line for my little brother who is not the little he is 6'7 330 lbs, so just if anyone ask yes i use to win when we fought, but now i wont fight him to save my life. Also happy belated to my good friend Michael Conley Jr whos birthday was yesterday.

Greg Oden: The Ohio State - USC Game

It took me a while to write this because im still hurt about what went down this past saturday. The Ohio State Buckeyes took on the USC Trojans and lost. It was a good game not like last year the Buckeyes was leading the whole game, but ended up losing it in the last 5 minutes of the fourth. The first half of the game i was on the sidelines with a couple of former basketball and football players. I had a great time seeing those hits close up. The second half i went up to the press box because i was getting cold and was tired of standing. Had a good time eating and talking to some of Gene Smiths old college teammates. As we was winning in the fourth half way through i decide i want to leave early so i can beat the crazy rush. On my way out all i heard way boos and people yelling so i happen to see a tv and watch the Trojans score and break my excited saturday night spirit. AT LEAST IT WAS A GOOD GAME.

Oden On His Travis Smith Golf Event: I Sucked But It Was Fun

Last friday i went to Terre Haute Indiana for the Travis Smith Golf Outing, that i host. Its always a fun event. Travis Smith is my best friend who passed away in a car accident in 2007. So for me to host the event it was no questions asked. This year Josh McRoberts from the Indiana Pacers and Eric Gordon from the Los Angeles Clippers came to support. Josh actually golfed with me. It was my third time on a golf course ever and i sucked. Its usually third times a charm, well not on the golf course. I sucked worse then anybody who ever played golf, i didnt even have one decent shot. I almost broke my clubs like five times, i threw them like three. In all i had a good time we played with some good players so they carried us Thomas Guss who is 16 and one of the best golfers in the state of Indiana and after 9 holes they drop me for a 10 year old Tim Lewellyn. He played 50 times better then me he even got closest to the pin, i wouldnt be able to get that hitting from the junior pin i didnt even make it to the junior pin teeing off from the mens tee. It was a fun day meet a lot of nice people had good food and it all went to a good thing the Terre Haute Boys and Girls Club.

Greg Oden: All My Free Time

This summer is the first time i lived by myself in my life. I am enjoying it a lot. I cook and clean more than i ever use to do. One thing ive gotten into is tv shows all different types. I watch shows from The Secret Life Of an America Teenager to Real World Cancun to Cold Case, not the real Cold Case the one on CBS and TNT. Its so bad that i watch Cold Case up to 4 in the morning every week night, because it comes on TNT starting at 12 and they play 4 episodes back to back. It is my new favorite show it all i have on my dvr. Its sad sometimes but its cool and interesting, it would be sweet if i could be on that show.

Greg Oden: Quick Trip

This past weekend i made a trip to Portland. It didnt start off as the best trip, my first flight got canceled and i didnt end up getting into portland till midnight. I got up around 10 and went to the gym to get a lift in. After i lifted i had a little event with Cricket, which was the main reason i came back. There were 5 contestants who bought the O-Phone chosen to have a shoot around with me, there were also Oregon Mentors kids there too. They had a free throw contest , three point contest then ended with a game of horse with me. We played 2 games one with the people who where there with the O-Phone, then one with all the kids. I lost the first game with the O-phone wimmers but won the second so in all it was a pretty fun afternoon. After that i hung out at home with my dog who i havent seen in over a month. Spent some time with him then had a 6 am flight the next morning. I was so tired but i got in at a decent hour. It felt good to be back ill do it again sometime later on in the summer before i go back.

Summer

This week ive arrived in Columbus. This is the place where i will spend my whole entire summer. Im going to try to stay in one spot this summer. Last year i went to alot of different places but this year i want to not travel so much and keep myself working out and not on other stuff. I will be taking classes this summer too. When i got back here and i was going to move in i didnt have anything in my room. I got myself a bed and put together a tv stand and a night stand. Im really proud of that because i did it, it made me feel good that i put it together all by myself. I also had my first workout yesterday my body is super sore i squatted for the first time in like two years. My legs was sore after four of them. At the end of the work out i couldnt even feel my legs but i know it will get better next week and i will keep on working hard and harder than the next day preparing for next season.

5/5/87

Today is my friend Travis Smiths' birthday. He would be 22 years old today. He would be playing golf, going to school, living in Portland, calling his mom, dad, and sister 3xs today cussing them out. Thats what he did he had a scholarship to play golf at Ball State University that he had a really good freshman year. He was the best friend, son, and brother that anyone could have. I know he talked to his parents everyday or at least 5 days a week just to let them know that he loved them he would alot of times check in on them. He was a brother that always had his opinion and advice for you everytime you needed it even if you didnt want to hear it, its very few people that do that, he didnt care if it was someone you were in a relationship with or not he would let known what was on his mind (usually with cuss words). As a best friend he was always there for me if i needed to be cussed out or just get out and get food, he would make sure i was taken care of me before himself. He did so much stuff for me that i feel bad that i never had the chance to repay him. Travis was taking away from use in a car accident on 1/27/07. There are alot of hard days for his family and myself but i want to let them know that he will never be FORGOTTEN and that i love you all just like my family and that you have a son in me.

Me and Ronald McDonald

I just got these pictures back from when i helped McDonalds with the launch of their new McCafe espresso drinks. I got to go to the McDonalds in Vancouver and i learned how to make the drinks myself. Its harder than i thought it would be though. Theres alot of flavors to choose from and theres alot you have to remember to make sure you make them right. Ronald was there and i got to work behind the cash register and they even gave me a brown McDonalds apron to wear which I kept and wore around the house. For real i did. For every coffee they sell McDonalds donates a portion to the Ronald McDonald House Charity here in Oregon. they said there tryin to raise $100,000 this year so hopefully everyone will go out and drink their coffee. The best part of the day was when they made me my favorite oreo mcflurry. I wish i could have one right now. ...

Come Back

Tonight against the Indiana Pacers i played my first game since the All Star Break. I didnt play alot of minutes but the minutes i did play i was concentrating on getting my wind back. I was suprisingly not as out of breath as i thought i would be. My knee felt good while i was out there it got pretty sore at half time and after the game but it wasnt anything that i couldnt deal with. So we have a game tomorrow and i plan on playing. We had a couple of guys get banged up in the game tonight so i definitely want to play to help out and get in the rythm of things. Getty Images

All-Star Break

I love the All-Star Break. I had so much fun, got so much rest that i feel refreshed. I have sleep to 2 in the afternoon everyday almost, i told people to not wake me when i sleep ill wake up on my own, thats how i know i slept as long as i could. I keep my phones on vibrate all the time anyways so that wasnt a problem at all. I am in Indiana so im away from all the maddness that was in phoenix. I did have to go for one day though, and i had a blast. The rookie and sophomore game i was selected to play in. I didnt participate because i am nursing a knee injury. I still got to go enjoy the festivaties. The game was cool except the rookies lost, and since im considered a rookie i lost. Other than that everything was cool and fun. While i was there I had a appearance with Spalding an unvailing of there new item. The IHoop which is a very cool thing, its a basket with a ipod dock and speakers on it. It has to be plug up though but its really cool i hope they send mine to my moms house soon. It wont be coming out till this summer but its really nice, i advise people to check it out. Now i will enjoy my last day of break by doing absolutely nothing.

Super Bowl

I know of so many people going to the Super Bowl, and most of them arent even going to watch the game. Thats crazy on how many people go down there just to see other people. I heard its alot of fun though. I wont have a chance to have a Super Bowl party or go to one because we will be on the plane headed to New Orleans. There are a couple of tv's on the plane so ill at least watch. Im going for the Cardinals just cause of Edgerrin James im a fan of his and i remember when i was in High School he use to go my games when he played for the Colts. Even though i have some family from Pittsburg, im still going with Arizona. It should be a good game though on of these times when im retired i would love to go to a Super Bowl but actually watch the game.
