More Olympic Ranting

As I sit here a grown man, at least I consider myself one with the only real qualification is the fact that I wipe my own ass, watching NBC's Live Olympic coverage they switch over to Gymnastics. Once every four years I care about what happens in Gymnastics Men and Women. If only for the reason that it helps the medal count.

I Like Olympic Basketball Again

If you are a sports fan and are paying even a little bit of attention to the Olympics you know that the USA men's squad put the thing down on the Greeks, avenging the embarrassing loss two years ago in Japan. But in case you haven't heard a little recap -

      	1 2 3 4 T
    GREECE 16 16 22 15 69
    U.S.A. 20 31 23 18 92
    Final
Batting away balls or swatting shots on seemingly every possession late in the second quarter, the Americans broke open a close game and went on to a 92-69 victory Thursday night to clinch a spot in the medal round.

See I told you.

But what I really want to say is that performance was one of the most important victories this team can have at these Olympics. Obviously the Gold medal match, and those that lead to that game will be more important. However a 23 point victory in what many were saying was this squad's first real test together. Well if this was any kind of indication of what's to come, I can't wait.

Eto'o on his way out, Arshavin in?

FC Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o has yet to decide where he will be playing his football next season. Although it's pretty clear that Barca no longer sees the Cameroon in their plans Eto'o still thinks returning is an option. If Eto'o, like Ronaldinho, can return to previous form he will definitley be a hot transfer target.

Hernandez his Grand Slam, doesn't get the win

For the first time in 37 years an American League pitcher hit a grand slam. That pitcher was Mariners' ace Felix Hernandez and the fucked up thing about it, he didn't even get the win.

Hernandez sprained his left ankle while covering home plate on a run-scoring wild pitch. Carlos Beltran slid hard into the feet of Hernandez, who left the game one out short of being eligible for a win. After trying a painful warmup pitch, he had to be helped to the dugout by team trainers.

Shaq just stop please

By now you probably heard about Shaq dissing Kobe in a freestyle rap at a club in New York over the weekend. Man was it horrible.

"You know how I be," Shaq rapped. "Last week Kobe couldn't do without me."
He also implored the crowd to sing along to his oft-repeated chorus: "Kobe [expletive], tell me how my [expletive] tastes."
Smiling and laughing often, O'Neal also sang that Bryant broke up his marriage.
"I'm a horse. Kobe ratted me out," he rapped. "That's why I'm getting divorced. He said Shaq gave a [woman] a mil. I don't do that 'cause my name's Shaquille. I love 'em, I don't leave 'em. I got a vasectomy, now I can't breed 'em."

Really Shaq?

Aragones won't reveal his mid-field

With all the speculation about who will be in the starting 11 for Spain's opening Euro 2008 match against Russia. Manager Luis Aragones won't let it be known who he'll pick, at least not until he has to. Spain has a real log jam in the midfield with many of the World's top players vying for, depending on the formation Big Phil goes with, four spots.

Spain coach Luis Aragones has given little away over team selection for his side's opening game of Euro 2008 against Russia.

With all the rumors floating around about Cristiano Ronaldo moving to Real Madrid this summer Manchester United, his current club is trying to put an end to it.
Rafael Nadal is really good

Rafael Nadal has achieved something that hasn't been done since Bjorn Borg did it in 1981. I wasn't even alive when Borg won his fourth straight French Open title, but I am alive now and can bare witness, along with many others to the dominance of Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros.

To get Ronaldo, Money isnt' a factor

According to Real Madrid President Ramon Calderon no figure is too high for the Spanish champions to pay.
…He insists the Spanish giants have the money to buy Cristiano Ronaldo.
Although Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed Manchester United's owners, the Glazer family, would not sell the 23-year-old superstar 'at any price', should they ever let Ronaldo leave, the price would almost certainly go beyond the £40million Real paid for Zinedine Zidane six years ago.
