The Federation of International Lacrosse

The International Lacrosse Federation (ILF) and the International Federation of Women's Lacrosse Associations (IFWLA) merged in August of this year to form the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL). Because the international governing bodies of men's and women's lacrosse were separate, it was prevented from becoming an Olympic sport. Now that at least one obstacle is hurdled, lacrosse is a step closer to being at the Olympics. The Olympics would put lacrosse on an extremely large international platform and give it a boost. I know that I've watched sports I previously had no interest in just because my country was in contention for a medal. Some young child could see this wonderful sport being played for the first time at the Olympics. This child could be inspired to pick up a stick and who knows? The game could be changed forever. I don't know about you, but I'm down for lacrosse at the Olympics!
