THE NBA PLAYOFFS KICKED OFF -- Some people will insist that the playoffs tipped off.  Well la dee dah, I didn't realize the Archduke of Metaphor was stopping by the blog this morning.  Learning points: the Pistons have all the discipline of an Iraqi infantry platoon; the Suns apparently don't know that defending the three-pointer when you're up by three with five seconds in the game is a good idea, and the Lakers and Celtics are going to meet in the Finals.  Book it. more...
