Friday Tidbits 5/9/08

It brings me great pleasure to report the trash-talking, can't back it up Wizards got bounced by the Cavs on their home court.  The "Overrated" One had a triple-double to seal their fate.  Papa John's apologized for printing LeBron "crybaby" shirts by offering 23 cent pizzas.  The Hawks avoided elimination to even the series at 3 against Boston.  Utah kept T-Mac's (40 points, 10 rebounds) streak alive as they elimated Houston.  He still hasn't gotten out of the first round of the playoffs.  Kobe Bryant won the MVP.  Detroit pounded Orlando to take Game 1.  New Orleans drilled San Antonio to win their series opener.  The Celtics weren't good enough to beat the Hawks on the road, but they were good enough to win Game 7 and the series.  Kobe Bryant dropped 38 to make sure the Lakers took Game 1 against the Jazz.  Detroit made it a 2-0 advantage as they topped Orlando again.  Chauncey Billups led the way with 28 points to celebrate his winning of the Walter J. Kennedy Sportsmanship Award .  New Orleans pounded San Anontio again to take a 2-0 series lead.  In a shocking development Chris Paul (30 points, 12 assists) led the way.  Well, KG showed he can produce when it matters as Boston took Game 1 vs. Cleveland.  Atlanta GM Billy Knight is calling it quits.  Orlando drilled Detroit in Game 3 behind Rashard Lewis' 33 points.  Detroit still leads the series 2-1.  Kobe's 34 points led the way as the Lakers took a 2-0 series lead.  Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, and Dwight Howard were named First Team All-NBA.  The Celtics stayed hot at home shutting down LeBron James again and taking a 2-0 series lead.  The Spurs avoided a major hole by taking care of New Orleans in Game 3 behind 62 combined points by Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker. more...
